I use RCS all the time.  The problem is not with my not keeping the
files in RCS; the problem is that the FreeBSD install overwrote our
customized config file with no warning.  At the very least it should
have renamed the existing sendmail.cf before installing its own, and it
should have also flagged that it was overwriting sendmail.cf.
