you could try to set 'Wno-stringop-overflow'  -flag for gcc8, or something
like that...
.. before fixing things in the hotspot-subdirectory ( strncat ) , you should
ask Open-Kurt, Free-Greg & PPC-Pjotr first whether its worth  ;-)
