Since you've replaced just about everything else in your system, that's all I can think of :) Another interesting thing about the Adaptec 2940UW - I have a PPro200 that I was using with some strange motherboard that a systems contract produced -- it would not work reliably at all with "ultra" turned on. Worked fine with ultra turned off. I swapped motherboards for a nice Asus P65UP5 and it has worked perfectly with the exact same hardware and Ultra turned ON...
