Yes, the default memory type is uncacheable.  There should be a 
variable range then set by the BIOS that covers all physical memory; 
you can look with "memcontrol list".

Hmm.  It's quite likely that the BIOS is only setting the MTRRs in the 
BSP; why aren't the APs doing this anymore?
