I looked into it about a week ago and was going to work up a set
of patches for 1.4h2 which is supposed to have this fixed, but it
turned out the layout of the files in the tarball changed quite a
bit since 1.2. :(

If you do work up something I wouldn't mind reviewing it.  However,
your best bet would be to run any changes by Bill Fumerola,
billf@freebsd.org, who maintains this port.
