Both /var/log/messages and XFree86.0.log are empty of errors. One thing I
do note is that there is no keyboard device in /dev, which 4-S has. When
I try to create it using mknod, I get told no such file or directory (Duh,
I'm trying to CREATE it you worthless bag of bits). I made a copy of my
XF86Config file and removed it from /etc/X11, verified that X couldn't
find a config file, and ran xf86cfg. I got the startup screen and a
working mouse, but never got any of the configuration windows, and of
course, the keyboard didn't work (I could not ctl-alt-bs out). Can devfs
be turned off? All it's doing is pissing me off, and I think it's causing
my X problem.
