It can be done but it's a PITA. The port will have to use a whole
slew of make command line variales as described in INSTALLING.

If xemacs is changed then xemacs-packages should also be changed
since it also installs into /usr/local/lib. Not to forget all the
language-specific ports (mule, etc.).
