I've done that.  You end up with lots of complaints:

   I'VE ALREADY GOTTEN THIS MESSAGE TWENTY TIMES!!!!1!!1  STOP SENDING
   ME THIS MESSAGE!!!!!1!!!

You ca'n't win.
