Thanks for the update.  Which version of GNU make are you using?  Still
GNU make 3.80, or did you use the freshly release 3.81 (or a release
candidate thereof)?

I'm a bit surprised, because I am not aware of any changes in GCC nor
libjava that could be responsible for such a change.
