I hope you took a look at ... It would be cool if the install prog. asked for the serial port to use as the mouse device, and then symlink the appropriate device to /dev/mouse, so that Joe User can just set /dev/mouse as the input device and have it work. P.S. I'm not subscribed to -install. I think an improvement in documentation would be more effective. ----------------------------+----------------------------------------------- Chuck Robey | Interests include any kind of voice or data chuckr@eng.umd.edu | communications topic, C programming, and Unix. 9120 Edmonston Ct #302 | Greenbelt, MD 20770 | I run Journey2 and n3lxx, both FreeBSD (301) 220-2114 | version 2.2 current -- and great FUN! ----------------------------+----------------------------------------------- From owner-freebsd-install Tue Aug 29 07:09:07 1995 Return-Path: install-owner Received: (from majordom@localhost) by freefall.FreeBSD.org (8.6.11/8.6.6) id HAA02381 for install-outgoing; Tue, 29 Aug 1995 07:09:07 -0700 Received: from strider.ibenet.it ([194.179.130.1]) by freefall.FreeBSD.org (8.6.11/8.6.6) with ESMTP id HAA02350 for ; Tue, 29 Aug 1995 07:09:00 -0700 Received: (from piero@localhost) by strider.ibenet.it (8.6.12/8.6.12) id QAA03153; Tue, 29 Aug 1995 16:12:03 +0200 From: Piero Serini Message-Id: <199508291412.QAA03153@strider.ibenet.it> Subject: Re: Mouse driver not found ... Chanches are that (s)he won't even notice it. When the user starts wonder- ing about the reason of the link, (s)he is no more an absolute novice, and I'm sure (s)he can understand the reason of the link itself. IMHO.
