My GUESS is that it's talking about the unix domain socket which is used by ctlinnd to control innd. for some reason, innd isn't looking at the unix domain socket often enough and hence the commands are stacking up. Local configuration error This is a FAQ, and probably not really what this list is for. Anyhow, the answer is to edit /etc/sendmail.cf and add the domains that you want to be recognised as being local. This is done on the `Cw' line. It should already be something like: Cwlocalhost so, in your case, you change it to be: Cwlocalhost cabonet.net.mx You can add any other domains you want sendmail to process locally to the end of the line, separated by spaces. Depending on which version of sendmail you run, you can do the same thing with a file `/etc/sendmail.cw', with each host/domain on a separate line. Edit your sendmail.cf file and looke for a line that beings with Cw. You need to list your mail host here as well as ALL the domains that you will be receiving mail for. Each item in the list is separated with a space. If you prefer, use Fw /etc/sendmail.domains and put these hosts in the file /etc/sendmail.domains. 3. Edit sendmail to direct the mail as desired. 4. Test your configuration using "sendmail -bt -oQ/tmp" 5. When everything is okay, restart sendmail by "killing" it, don't use KILL -HUP, it doesn't work! Restart sendmail with "sendmail -bd -q15m". Be VERY VERY CAREFUL... this is only useful as a general reference. I like the bit about: # Kill sendmail and restart it. DON'T use kill -9. Kill it dead. You can and # should create a little shell script that # will kill and restart sendmail, named, and httpd, as you will need to be # doing this alot. Named and httpd only need a kill -9. And here I always thought "kill -9" WAS "killing it dead"... Personally I find that HUP works better on named, and "named.reload" works best... you sorta lose your cache if you kill -9 named. The basic outline is correct, but it can be rolled into your .mc and .m4 files a little more neatly than the bludgeon-job that is described in this document. I also don't care for the (incorrect) implications about the necessity for DNS service. It is certainly a component of the problem, but you do not have to be "primary name service" for the domain... you simply need an appropriate MX pointed at your host. I use the following, and I do it from a .m4 file... LOCAL_CONFIG Kdomaliases hash /etc/domaliases.db LOCAL_RULE_0 R$+ < @ $+ . > $: $1 < @ $2 > . # Map "@x.y.z -> @a.b.c" R$+ < @ $+ > $* $: $1 < $(domaliases @$2 $: @ $2 $) > $3 # Map "user1@x.y.z -> user2@a.b.c" R$+ < @ $+ > $* $: $(domaliases $1@$2 $: $1 < @ $2 > $3 $) # Map "x.y.z (hostname) -> user@a.b.c" R$+ < @ $+ > $* $: $(domaliases $2 $: $1 < @ $2 > $3 $) R$+ < @ $+ > . $: $1 < @ $2 . > I remember when I did it it didn't seem quite "right" but it works to do all the translations I needed... I rewrite addresses going to "@ods.sol.net" to "@ods.ods.net", or individual users, or an entire domain name like "www.domain.com" getting pointed to a single mailbox. It's reasonably flexible and general. I should make it a FEATURE(domaliases), just too lazy to figure out how to go to that level of niceness :-) ... But some of my >users want to use ppp to connect to my server. ppp polls DCD while slattach waits for a SIGHUP. ppp's method is much easier to get right for both the daemon and the driver, but there seems to be a problem with it. I use the following program to poll the modem state for all sio and cy lines. The DCD state should be `-DCD' when nothing is connected and change to '+DCD' when something is connected and raises DCD and change to `-DCD' on hangup. This works with a Cyclaydes 8Yo. Perhaps there is a timing problem in the ppp daemon. You should probably use kernel ppp if there is more that one ppp session at a time. --- comstate.c --- #include #include #include #include static void try(char *prefix); int main() { try("ttyd"); try("cuaa"); try("ttyc"); try("cuac"); return 0; } static void try(char *prefix) { int bit; char dev_name[32]; int dev_nr; int fd; int comstate; int stat; static char *statenames[] = { "LE", "DTR", "RTS", "ST", "SR", "CTS", "DCD", "RI", "DSR", }; for (dev_nr = 0; dev_nr < 32; ++dev_nr) { sprintf(dev_name, "/dev/%s%c", prefix, dev_nr < 10 ? We are also looking for SMDS for FreeBSD or BSD/OS so that we could avoid having to use a Cisco to handle our SMDS line. The CLOCAL probably doesn't matter, and HUPCL is only supposed to affect hangups at your end (it causes DTR to be dropped when the line is closed). This seems to be fixed in -current by setting HUPCL in some cases: if (!(mode & MODE_DEDICATED)) rstio.c_cflag |= HUPCL; 2.1R is also missing a `modemios = rstio;' statement. You may have to installed DES crypt routines (you don't need them, >but it makes FrontPage work with BSD's password file..) I'm running 2.1 stable, and I wasn't able to get them to install for the cern web server. It keeps wiping out at the point where it tries to create the config file with the message to the effect that "File:/usr/local/frontpage/" is an illegal path. *Obviously* it's an illegal path. I got on the phone with the Microsoft Tech Support person who handles the unix front page stuff, we went through the installation together and the config files for the cern web server, he agreed I was doing everything correctly, and said he would look into the problem and call me back. The next day he called back and informed me that the extensions don't work with FreeBSD 2.1 stable, although "just between you and me, I know of one person that got them work by changing the kernel, but I don't know what he did." If anyone out here knows how to install them and get them to work under 2.1 stable I would love to hear how you did it.
