I'm subscribed to the FreeBSD lists in a couple of different places, and in both places I periodically get blank messages like this: > From owner-freebsd-questions@FreeBSD.ORG Fri Oct 10 11:51:37 1997 > Received: from sarip.sol.net (sarip.sol.net [169.207.30.120]) > by pluto.plutotech.com (8.8.5/8.8.5) with ESMTP id LAA08605; > Fri, 10 Oct 1997 11:51:36 -0600 (MDT) > From: owner-freebsd-questions@FreeBSD.ORG > Received: from hub.freebsd.org (hub.FreeBSD.ORG [204.216.27.18]) > by sarip.sol.net (8.8.7/8.8.4) with ESMTP > id MAA13074; Fri, 10 Oct 1997 12:47:24 -0500 (CDT) > Received: from localhost (daemon@localhost) > by hub.freebsd.org (8.8.7/8.8.7) with SMTP id KAA25452; > Fri, 10 Oct 1997 10:29:05 -0700 (PDT) > (envelope-from owner-freebsd-questions) > Date: Fri, 10 Oct 1997 10:29:05 -0700 (PDT) > Message-Id: <199710101729.KAA25452@hub.freebsd.org> > To: undisclosed-recipients:; > Status: RO Does anyone know why these are sent out, and if so, why they are sent out so frequently? I know it's not just me, since we've got a mail-to-news gateway and the messages show up there as well. The envelope from address is always the owner of one of the FreeBSD lists, like owner-freebsd-hackers, owner-freebsd-questions, etc. Ken -- Kenneth Merry ken@plutotech.com
