I happen to have a manual for the drive in question. There are no "unix boot" mode jumpers. In addition to the three SCSI ID jumpers there are jumpers for: PARITY open: no parity check close: do parity check PRV/ALW open: the CD caddy can be removed closed: the CD caddy is locked TEST open: "normal" operation closed: audio only mode, SCSI interface is ignored TERMINATION open: shared terminator power is not in use closed: shared terminator power is in use -john
