I think that only cpp should have needed a symlink (as noted in NetBSD docs). FWIW, the FreeBSD tools end up in their proper places. 8-) > then i needed to add the uucp and mail groups to my /etc/group > now i just noticed that it failed because of a missing man group, > how should i go about this since in /usr/src/etc/group man is number 9 > but number 9 is taken in /etc/group (netbsd) ? Compare the groups in FreeBSD's src/etc/group with NetBSD's /etc/group. Add _all_ the missing ones. I don't think the numbers clash. -- John Birrell - jb@cimlogic.com.au; jb@freebsd.org CIMlogic Pty Ltd, GPO Box 117A, Melbourne Vic 3001, Australia +61 418 353 137 To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-alpha" in the body of the message From owner-freebsd-alpha Mon Mar 30 14:59:35 1998 Return-Path: Received: (from majordom@localhost) by hub.freebsd.org (8.8.8/8.8.8) id OAA14466 for freebsd-alpha-outgoing; Mon, 30 Mar 1998 14:59:35 -0800 (PST) (envelope-from owner-freebsd-alpha@FreeBSD.ORG) Received: from quackerjack.cc.vt.edu (quackerjack.cc.vt.edu [198.82.160.250]) by hub.freebsd.org (8.8.8/8.8.8) with ESMTP id OAA14437 for ; Mon, 30 Mar 1998 14:59:27 -0800 (PST) (envelope-from nmanisca@vt.edu) Received: from sable.cc.vt.edu (sable.cc.vt.edu [128.173.16.30]) by quackerjack.cc.vt.edu (8.8.8/8.8.8) with ESMTP id SAA14512 for ; Mon, 30 Mar 1998 18:02:43 -0500 (EST) Received: from vt.edu (nmanisca.campus.vt.edu [198.82.67.94]) by sable.cc.vt.edu (8.8.8/8.8.8) with ESMTP id RAA32421 for ; Mon, 30 Mar 1998 17:59:17 -0500 (EST) Message-ID: <3520239A.430D377B@vt.edu> Date: Mon, 30 Mar 1998 17:58:35 -0500 From: nm X-Mailer: Mozilla 4.04 [en] (X11; I; FreeBSD 2.2.6-RELEASE i386) MIME-Version: 1.0 To: freebsd-alpha@FreeBSD.ORG Subject: the missing ss_err.h Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Sender: owner-freebsd-alpha@FreeBSD.ORG Precedence: bulk X-Loop: FreeBSD.org ok, it looks like ss_err.h is generated by running 'compile_et ss_err.et' but compile_et is not available when libss is built so it fails. ow I just went into /usr/src/usr.bin/compile_et and compiled it real quick and then generated the ss_err.* files and ploped them into the proper place, im recompiling to see if this works... anyone this may be the fix for it, have compile_et built and made usable before libss is built. nick maniscalco nmanisca@vt.edu To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-alpha" in the body of the message
