I believe, at the present state it wouldn't be worth the effort putting so much energy in developing a driver for a rare card which may be phased out on behalf of the vendor anyway. I also have a Bianca BRI (Bintec), which was even a lot costlier and which has done it's job as an ISDN router in pre-bisdn times under KA9Q. Maybe the time has come now with i4b. B-Channel monitoring. When I had my Bianca Bri running there were two LEDs, one red and one yellow. Yellow was D-Channel activity (resp. D-Channel up), red meant B-Channel active. Now maybe it's time to think of a KDE (or other X11 applet) which monitors the B and D channel(s). I didn't look at the i4b code yet and I probably wouldn't get a quick answer if I would though I'm sure it's written well and documented very well ;-). But maybe the author or someone else has an idea where in the hierarchy one would best implement such a tool. -- Chris Christoph P. U. I just subscribed to this list. I'm one of the authors of kISDN, an isdn configuration-, dialup-, account managing- and monitor utility for KDE. For now, kISDN probably only works under Linux, but we're interested in supporting BSD, too. But we need some infos about the whole i4bsd stuff especially differences between isdn4linux and i4bsd. If there is anyone willing to help porting kISDN to *BSD, please contact me. PS: kISDN is availabel at http://kisdn.headlight.de Cheers, Carsten Pfeiffer -- http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/1632/ To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-isdn" in the body of the message From owner-freebsd-isdn Sat May 2 00:30:32 1998 Return-Path: Received: (from majordom@localhost) by hub.freebsd.org (8.8.8/8.8.8) id AAA20059 for freebsd-isdn-outgoing; Sat, 2 May 1998 00:30:32 -0700 (PDT) (envelope-from owner-freebsd-isdn@FreeBSD.ORG) Received: from news1.gtn.com (news1.gtn.com [192.109.159.3]) by hub.freebsd.org (8.8.8/8.8.8) with ESMTP id AAA20053 for ; Sat, 2 May 1998 00:30:28 -0700 (PDT) (envelope-from andreas@klemm.gtn.com) Received: (from uucp@localhost) by news1.gtn.com (8.8.6/8.8.6) with UUCP id JAA09473; Sat, 2 May 1998 09:30:05 +0200 (MET DST) Received: (from andreas@localhost) by klemm.gtn.com (8.8.8/8.8.8) id JAA21775; Sat, 2 May 1998 09:15:39 +0200 (CEST) (envelope-from andreas) Message-ID: <19980502091539.A21393@klemm.gtn.com> Date: Sat, 2 May 1998 09:15:39 +0200 From: Andreas Klemm To: carpdjih@cetus.zrz.TU-Berlin.DE, freebsd-isdn@FreeBSD.ORG Subject: Re: monitoring B channel activity References: <199804300650.IAA05306@gilberto.physik.RWTH-Aachen.DE>; <19980501162853.A26643@klemm.gtn.com> <"mail.zrz.T.145:01.05.98.17.20.38"@TU-Berlin.DE> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii X-Mailer: Mutt 0.91.1i In-Reply-To: <"mail.zrz.T.145:01.05.98.17.20.38"@TU-Berlin.DE>; from Carsten Pfeiffer on Fri, May 01, 1998 at 07:20:23PM +0000 X-Disclaimer: A free society is one where it is safe to be unpopular X-Operating-System: FreeBSD 3.0-CURRENT SMP Sender: owner-freebsd-isdn@FreeBSD.ORG Precedence: bulk X-Loop: FreeBSD.org On Fri, May 01, 1998 at 07:20:23PM +0000, Carsten Pfeiffer wrote: > > PS: kISDN is availabel at http://kisdn.headlight.de The screenshots look cool ! -- Andreas Klemm http://www.FreeBSD.ORG/~andreas What gives you 90% more speed, for example in kernel compilation ? http://www.FreeBSD.ORG/~fsmp/SMP/akgraph-a/graph1.html powered by ,,symmetric multiprocessor FreeBSD'' To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-isdn" in the body of the message From owner-freebsd-isdn Sat May 2 00:38:20 1998 Return-Path: Received: (from majordom@localhost) by hub.freebsd.org (8.8.8/8.8.8) id AAA20510 for freebsd-isdn-outgoing; Sat, 2 May 1998 00:38:20 -0700 (PDT) (envelope-from owner-freebsd-isdn@FreeBSD.ORG) Received: from linteuto.teuto.de (linteuto.teuto.de [194.77.23.26]) by hub.freebsd.org (8.8.8/8.8.8) with ESMTP id AAA20496 for ; Sat, 2 May 1998 00:38:17 -0700 (PDT) (envelope-from martin@rumolt.teuto.de) Received: from rumolt.teuto.de (root@rumolt.teuto.de [194.77.23.161]) by linteuto.teuto.de (8.8.8/8.8.8) with ESMTP id JAA09489; Sat, 2 May 1998 09:37:46 +0200 Received: (from martin@localhost) by rumolt.teuto.de (8.8.8/8.8.7) id JAA02125; Sat, 2 May 1998 09:25:30 +0200 (MEST) From: Martin Husemann Message-Id: <199805020725.JAA02125@rumolt.teuto.de> Subject: Re: monitoring B channel activity To: carpdjih@cetus.zrz.TU-Berlin.DE Date: Sat, 2 May 1998 09:25:30 +0200 (MEST) Cc: freebsd-isdn@FreeBSD.ORG In-Reply-To: <"mail.zrz.T.145:01.05.98.17.20.38"@TU-Berlin.DE> from "Carsten Pfeiffer" at May 1, 98 07:20:23 pm Organization: Crusaders Catering Services Inc. Done. There is already work on the way to add monitoring and remote configuration to i4b (the first things will probably show up in the next snapshot). Take this with a grain of salt and think medium time frame - although this is still the only remaining reason I haven't converted one BISDN setup at work to i4b: we use a Win32 based monitor client, which is not yet running with i4b.
