An Istec-1008 TK-Anlage/PBX cohabits the isdn line & drives my phones. The problem did not occur with bisdn (I think it used to with old bisdn, but then by bisdn-097 it had gone away). People reported it since the first alpha release and the HSCX code has changed 3 times since then. All i can recommend is either go back from release to release and tell me on which release it happenes and on which not. Or fix it in the code. I'm sorry, but i cannot reproduce this phenomenon here. PS: i've got almost zero feedback (with the exception of Julian and 2 or 3 others) on the last releases. Many people have reported this noise earlier, but noone of them reported after the releases since then that they still hear the noise or that it has stopped. This explains the problems I've had with the Teles 16.3 PnP. It is a Teles 16.3c1 with this HFC chip on it. So, it is not a PnP failure--I was trying to use an unsupported card with i4b. The Teles 16.3c1 uses an HFC-S chip, which seems to provide the functionality of both the ISAC and the HSCX chip. Anyone working on this one already? Does isdn4linux support this Teles 16.3c1? My isdnd.rc lets isdnd choose any B-channel (isdnchannel=-1). But: if the 1st ISDN channel is blocked (e.g. used by a phone call) isdnd correctly switches to the 2nd B-channel but cannot build up a connection. On the isdnd screen I can only see "outbytes" but nothing coming in. This is the log of the isppp0 device: isppp0: lcp up(starting) isppp0: lcp output isppp0: lcp TO(req-sent) rst_counter = 10 isppp0: lcp output isppp0: lcp TO(req-sent) rst_counter = 9 isppp0: lcp output isppp0: lcp TO(req-sent) rst_counter = 8 and so on... Even after setting "isdnchannel" explicitly to a specific B-channel ("1" or "2") the daemon still uses the next free one. Anybody else having this problem? Daniel P.S. using AVM Fritz! card. Haven't had similar problems with earlier versions of i4b, but probably I just didn't get called during ppp sessions... Because of this, I want exactly to know, when my ISDN connection is open or closed (i.e. when I pay to DTAG or not ;-). Interpreting the output of isdntrace is not easy, especially if I don't know what it means. So where can I get the following protocol docs: I.430 ISDN BRI layer 1 protocol description. Q.921 ISDN D-channel layer 2 protocol description. Q.931 ISDN D-channel layer 3 protocol description. Or is there an easier way to quickly see, if the ISDN line is open or not ? But shortly after my mail to the list, I found the programs "record", "answer", etc. in /etc/isdn/samples. After a little bit of testing answering the phone worked. It would have been easier if there was a hint in the docs about that. > The program I use is the C-Hack in the contrib dir. I will have a look at that, Thanks. After I have recorded some messages now, I would like to play them. Send it to /dev/audio you would say. But I couldn't get my Creative Soundblaster 16 running yet and I would like to be able to here the records on my WinNT machine too. So is there a possibility to convert the recorded messages to WAV or VOC format ? Is there software for FreeBSD that can do that, perhaps "sox" ? Thanks, I just switched to another I/O address. Now both B-channels seem to work. But the only conflict I noticed was on the primary HSCX channel (AddrA=0x620, the same as the AWE32)? But this morning the card was wedged so badly (same symptoms: isdnd shows outgoing, but no incoming traffic) that only a power cycle helped (also under Win95 no connection). The main change is that it now contains OpenBSD/i386 support written by Bas Oude Nijeweme - thank you! I'm not quite shure if i integrated everything correctly, so feedback from people installing on OpenBSD/i386 is appreciated! Those of you running SMP machines: please check if the I4B_SMP_WORKAROUND option is still necessary, i think i've found the cause why i4b did not interrupt. Further, some minor bugs were fixed, for details please have a look into the ChangeLog file. How to access the ftp site: The ISDN4BSD package is available from: isdn4bsd@ftp.consol.de/pub -------------------------- you have to log in as user isdn4bsd -------- and give your mail address as the password. Then change to the "pub" directory. Anonymous ftp as user "ftp" or "anonymous" will NOT (!) give the desired result ! I used "/etc/rc.isdn stop" to completely close the connection, i.e. to kill isdnd and to remove the default route and isppp0 (ifconfig isppp0 ... delete). This is for testing i4b at the moment, so I can use still my router. Perhaps this is just the reason for this message in "/var/log/messages": [...] May 23 12:19:47 asterix su: stefan to root on /dev/ttyp0 May 23 12:19:59 asterix /kernel: isppp0: lcp close(opened) May 23 12:19:59 asterix /kernel: isppp0: phase terminate May 23 12:19:59 asterix /kernel: isppp0: ipcp down(opened) May 23 12:19:59 asterix /kernel: isppp0: ipcp close(starting) May 23 12:19:59 asterix /kernel: isppp0: lcp output May 23 12:19:59 asterix /kernel: isppp0: lcp input(closing): May 23 12:19:59 asterix /kernel: isppp0: phase dead May 23 12:19:59 asterix /kernel: i4b-L3-next_l3state: FSM illegal state, state = ST_U11 - Disc Req, event = EV_DISCRQ - L4 DISC REQ!
