There are certain words and phrases the search engine is programmed to
ignore since they occur too often, like 'the' 'and', as well as mail
header bits, like 'FreeBSD.ORG' since it's in every message. I call them
`taboo words', although the search system will let you know if you've used
one of them.

The httpd daemon runs with the ownership nobody. Thus, the
daemon can only write in public directories like /tmp.
The logfiles are in freefall:/usr/local/www/log
The web statistic is at

The http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/Information
is a bug in the search engine. I don't know a fix.

This is a known issue. I'm lobbying to take this page on myself, however
the current owner of the page has been unresponsive.
The Bt848 page you found, however, only contains drivers for FreeBSD; if
you require Windows driver information, you should contact the vendor of
your video capture board or Zoltrix directly.

FYI, I'm now blocking the user agents
^(Teleport|Checkbot|Wget|Web|Digimarc) if they try to access any file
under http://www.freebsd.org/cgi
Some days ago a Teleport agent downloaded 5 url.cgi scripts
per second at freefall and raised the load average up to 12!
The robots will get a '403 Forbidden' message.

As far as I know CVSup is only available for the source tree and the
www-pages, right???
If I'm right you are really wasting bandwidth each time a mirror
traverses the ftp tree of your site just in order to do nothing. Rsync
would drastically reduce the load on your net connection resulting
from such mirror updates.
What do you have to loose by offering an up to date rsync of the
FreeBSD distribution???

Arne
