I did not receive a response to my last message to you nor Companies should always contact us with a suitable paragraph of HTML (as is noted in the gallery/commercial page) for inclusion - we never add companies or write their advertising copy ourselves since that only results in possible misunderstandings. It's also better to have the company become acquainted with the various FreeBSD advertising channels (which are also free), like the web pages and announce mailing list. - Jordan From owner-freebsd-www Fri Nov 6 08:53:08 1998 Return-Path: Received: (from daemon@localhost) by hub.freebsd.org (8.8.8/8.8.8) id IAA24271 for www-outgoing; Fri, 6 Nov 1998 08:53:08 -0800 (PST) (envelope-from owner-freebsd-www) Received: from exchangeserver.mpainc.com (proxy.mpainc.com [198.246.145.98]) by hub.freebsd.org (8.8.8/8.8.8) with ESMTP id IAA24264 for ; Fri, 6 Nov 1998 08:53:07 -0800 (PST) (envelope-from RickSiple@mpainc.com) Received: by EXCHANGESERVER with Internet Mail Service (5.5.1960.3) id ; Fri, 6 Nov 1998 11:53:51 -0500 Message-ID: <50D018439050D211AFB1006008CEB82D0615ED@EXCHANGESERVER> From: Rick Siple To: "'Jordan K. There is no one in the FreeBSD project that contacts these companies to acquaint them with FreeBSD's advertising channels, so I should not attempt to notify anyone in the FreeBSD project of any press release, etc. I find relating to FreeBSD? I suppose if the copmany went to the trouble to create a driver or product for FreeBSD they should have done some homework on the operating system. Thanks again. People are always free to contact companies and say "hey, did you realize you can get a free plug on the web site and, if you have suitable advertising copy, the commercial/announce mailing lists for FreeBSD?" - I do that all the time. What we don't do, and all I was trying to clarify above, is make unsolicited listings of such companies and write their product/company description ourselves. That is what leads to misunderstandings (to say nothing of incorrect product descriptions) and where we would rather have the company's participation. - Jordan From owner-freebsd-www Fri Nov 6 09:23:56 1998 Return-Path: Received: (from daemon@localhost) by hub.freebsd.org (8.8.8/8.8.8) id JAA00357 for www-outgoing; Fri, 6 Nov 1998 09:23:56 -0800 (PST) (envelope-from owner-freebsd-www) Received: from mars.cableol.net (mars.cableol.net [194.168.4.224]) by hub.freebsd.org (8.8.8/8.8.8) with SMTP id JAA00346 for ; Fri, 6 Nov 1998 09:23:52 -0800 (PST) (envelope-from tim@globalgold.co.uk) Received: from powerbook.globalgold.co.uk by mars.cableol.net; (5.65v3.2/1.1.8.2/22Feb96-0403PM) id AC01848; Fri, 6 Nov 1998 17:23:30 GMT Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" X-Sender: aco35@pop.dial.pipex.com Message-Id: Date: Fri, 6 Nov 1998 17:23:35 +0000 To: www@FreeBSD.ORG From: Tim Dunton Subject: HELP Sender: owner-freebsd-www@FreeBSD.ORG X-Loop: FreeBSD.org Precedence: bulk Hi, I've got a really simple problem with cc.
