Hello, I saw your site about multiple boots. I hope you help me.
I have a HD with 8894 Cyl, 15 Hds, 63 Sectors, my BIOS show 523 Cyl,
255 Heads and 63 Sectors. In my old computer: HD (950Mb) I have three
primary partitions with MS-DOS 6.2, WIN 95 and WIN-NT 4.
In my new computer, new HD, I can't intall the BOOT MANAGER of OS/2
WARP 3.1.
I need at least two primary partitions, what can I do? whitch
software create, format and manager two partitions, and FAT32?.
I'd like to use WINDOWS 95 with FAT16, and WINDOWS 98 FAT32.
Thanks.

'Software' is a synonym for 'Installing FreeBSD' and 'Installing
applications on a FreeBSD computer'.

I hate to sound like an HTML heretic, but might not the use of tables
make this page and the pages under it far more efficient in their use
of screen real-estate? Every time I use this resource to look for
something, I'm struck by how long and yet terse the pages are for the
bigger categories and I think "gosh, there's just got to be a more
compact way of supplying this information."
What do the HTML artists here think?

I'm unhappy with the long preface. In lynx you must scroll
to the 3th page to get the search menu and the first ports categories.
Can we move the 2.2.x to 2.2-stable upgrade kits to
another page?
We should also print the short description of
a category, e.g.:
Archivers - Archiving tools (18)
Astro - Astronomical ports (11)
Audio - sound support (45)
[...]

Hello.
Just found a few...
1. On http://www.freebsd.org/FAQ/FAQ.html title for 12.3 should read:
"Yes, but why are there so many different formats?"
2. On http://www.freebsd.org/applications.html where we talk about "Net
surfing" - should we change from BSD binary to Native FreeBSD binary?
Old:
Net surfing. A real UNIX workstation makes a great Internet
surfboard, and the BSD version of Netscape Navigator with Java support runs
on FreeBSD. Surf the web, publish your own web pages, read Usenet
news, and send and receive email with a FreeBSD system on your desktop.

The Mailing list archives have a sort by date function for the
presentation (first sort by score, cut to the limit, sort by date).
The web pages search does not have a sort by date function. I
doubt it is possible to add a sort function. A single change
to the handbook force an update of all handbook*.html files.

For that one, I don't know where to mail it.
I was searching "The Beer Licence" or something like that in the

But I get that error when i click on a message:

Why?
Is someone having that beer licence?

Found two press releases today relating to products for FreeBSD:
The first was from LAN Media Corporation describing support for
open source operating systems in three or four of thier new WAN
adapters. (Interestingly, they mention NetBSD and FreeBSD before Linux,
thier PR guy must have been asleep at the switch :). In the same
sentence, though, they mention BSD/OS, BSDI's not so free OS?).
Article: http://biz.yahoo.com/bw/981104/lan_media_1.html
HomePage: http://www.lanmedia.com
The second was an update to Active Concepts's Funnel Web web
site analysis software. The upgrade is currently only available for the
Macintosh with Nt/95 to follow soon. FreeBSD, Linux and several other
Unix versions to follow in 'fourth quarter 1998'. (Aren't we already in
the fourth quarter of 1998? :P ).

Is this the proper address to which to send such findings so
that you can contact them? Or should I be asking the companies to
contact you? I did not receive a response to my last message to you nor
did the product/company show up in the commercial vendors listing. Or,
maybe your just busy and will get to it later. Anyway, I would like to
be sure I am sending these to the correct person. Thanks.

Companies should always contact us with a suitable paragraph of HTML
(as is noted in the gallery/commercial page) for inclusion - we never
add companies or write their advertising copy ourselves since that
only results in possible misunderstandings. It's also better to have
the company become acquainted with the various FreeBSD advertising
channels (which are also free), like the web pages and announce
mailing list.

Sorry to seems dense, but I want to make sure I understand.
There is no one in the FreeBSD project that contacts these companies to
acquaint them with FreeBSD's advertising channels, so I should not
attempt to notify anyone in the FreeBSD project of any press release,
etc. I find relating to FreeBSD? I suppose if the copmany went to the
trouble to create a driver or product for FreeBSD they should have done
some homework on the operating system.
Thanks again. Sorry to bother you.

No, I think you may have misunderstood.
People are always free to contact companies and say "hey, did you
realize you can get a free plug on the web site and, if you have
suitable advertising copy, the commercial/announce mailing lists for
FreeBSD?" - I do that all the time. What we don't do, and all I was
trying to clarify above, is make unsolicited listings of such
companies and write their product/company description ourselves. That
is what leads to misunderstandings (to say nothing of incorrect
product descriptions) and where we would rather have the company's
participation.

Hi,
I've got a really simple problem with cc. When i try to compile it just
says language optional not installed. I think this is because I haven't got
the right path.
Can you help at all?
Tim

Never got that error. What command line are you using? Are you sure
you're running this on FreeBSD?

* We should also print the short description of

* Archivers - Archiving tools (18)

* Audio - sound support (45)
Good idea, but some of the categories don't have directories (and thus
pkg/COMMENT) associated to them.
