Is there or has there been work on making the msdosfs (semi)asynchonous? I have a ZIP drive and it's /slow/. I checked why and saw it wrote all the clusters one by one to disk. Since devices like the ZIP drive don't (appear to) havea lot of cache, it slowed things down a lot.
