Currently we can still maintain our users on the 3.2/3.3-STABLE uid maximum, but what if we get more than 99999 users? We are fast pushing to this limit. How have you all solved this? Hacked the sources to expand the uid? Also, how do you all manage the authentication of users? We currently use Radiator (a damn fine product if I may say so) plus some NIS on the side, but I want to get rid of NIS as much as possible and create seperate DB files for POP users, or even get our POP to use the radius authentication servers. But then I am still stomped on things like FTP, because users need an uid to have their homedirectories protected and all that. I hope you can enlighten me with some ideas. =) Thanks in advance, -- Jeroen Ruigrok van der Werven/Asmodai asmodai(at)wxs.nl The BSD Programmer's Documentation Project Network/Security Specialist BSD: Technical excellence at its best From Nothing comes only Nothing...
