The tinderbox machine keeps hanging. The tinderbox machine is a Comapq Deskpro 6200 running a generic FreeBSD 3.0 install off of ftp.freebsd.org. The culprit seems to be nfs. Does anyone have any suggestions as to the cause of this problem or what we can do to stabalize the box (minus turning of nfs mounts :) thanks /t -- ---------------------------------------------------------- tague griffith (tague@netscape.com) client internationalization To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-mozilla" in the body of the message From owner-freebsd-mozilla Mon Mar 1 20:45:40 1999 Delivered-To: freebsd-mozilla@freebsd.org Received: from toxic.magnesium.net (toxic.magnesium.net [204.188.6.238]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with SMTP id 96EC114CB4 for ; Mon, 1 Mar 1999 20:45:31 -0800 (PST) (envelope-from unfurl@toxic.magnesium.net) Received: (qmail 86405 invoked by uid 1001); 2 Mar 1999 04:45:14 -0000 Date: 1 Mar 1999 20:45:14 -0800 Date: Mon, 1 Mar 1999 20:45:14 -0800 From: Unfurl To: freebsd-mozilla@FreeBSD.ORG Subject: Re: problems with mozilla FreeBSD tinderbox Message-ID: <19990301204514.A86376@dub.net> References: <36DB43B5.C0B73D3B@netscape.com> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii X-Mailer: Mutt 0.95.1i In-Reply-To: <36DB43B5.C0B73D3B@netscape.com>; from Tague Griffith on Mon, Mar 01, 1999 at 05:49:41PM -0800 Sender: owner-freebsd-mozilla@FreeBSD.ORG Precedence: bulk X-Loop: FreeBSD.ORG Is this a 3.0-RELEASE machine? NFSv3 had many problems in 3.0. 3.1 is better, but there are some issues, which are being actively worked on. You should consider moving this machine to 3.1-RELEASE, since that's the 'production' version of FreeBSD at the moment. 3.0 was a 'beta' release (see the release notes), to get a wider testing audience for the 3.x branch before moving it to the stable branch and depreciating the 2.2.x branch.
