Hi, I have an ensoniq sound card. I've read the previous posts on this topic. I build a new kernel and did cd /dev; sh MAKEDEV snd1. I can see the device when the system boots: es1: <AudioPCI ES1370> rev 0x00 int a irq 9 on pci0.19.0 pcm1: using I/O space register mapping at 0x6500 ... The /dev/sndstat looks like the following: FreeBSD Audio Driver (981002) Sep 4 1999 21:19:00 Installed devices: pcm1: <ENSONIQ AudioPCI> at 0x6500 irq 0 dma 0:0 But I still cannot hear anything. If I start kscd, it will core dump immediately: pid 449 (kscd), uid 0: exited on signal 11 (core dumped) When I use mpg123, it complains as follows: Can't reset audio! I wonder what is the problem. Any help is appreciated. Thanks. chong To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
