I have heard that someone at Informix was trying to drum up support for a FreeBSD port of Informix. I'd settle for a native version of the client libraries for Sybase. That should only take a day or two for somone at Sybase to whip up. We're in the process of deciding upon a database platform and we've had a very hard time trying to get vendors to support FreeBSD as a client platform. Informix is one of our final choices. Is there a person or group within Informix we can contact to help this process along? Port description for databases/freetds This is TDS protocol library (CTlib/DBlib) that is used to connect to Microsoft and Sybase SQL servers. This can be used instead of native libraries, that are shipped with commercial products. Someone from Sybase came on the FreeTDS list announced that the driver would be open-sourced! But it fizzeled out. So the slow reverse-engineering and guesswork development process of FreeTDS continues on.
