What should be done, to become a normal mirror. What are your recommendations for a normal mirroring operation. Also it would be interestint to find how much traffic and disk space would we use, if we wish to mirror: Current / Stable branches Releases Ports Packages Snapshots (both for stable/current, maybe 20 last ones) Distfiles What do you use for FTP site mirroring? rsync? cvsup? Also it would be interestint to find how much traffic and disk > space would we use, if we wish to mirror: You can get the disk space information by looking at the file `dir.sizes' in the FreeBSD FTP area. For information on network utilization, see . > What do you use for FTP site mirroring? rsync? cvsup? Yes. On our FTP site (ftp5.FreeBSD.org), which also mirrors XFree86, CPAN, NetBSD, and OpenBSD, we use the following programs: CPAN: spegla FreeBSD: spegla and cvsup NetBSD: rsync OpenBSD: spegla Tcl: spegla X: spegla XFree86: spegla Some of these collections are made available for anonymous rsync. The FreeBSD collection is a bit unusual, since parts of it are sucked directly over from the FTP site and parts are generated locally via cvsup in checkout mode. (As a result, the source trees in our FTP area differ from those on ftp.FreeBSD.org.) We currently do not carry the full CVS tree in the FTP area, since there are more appropriate ways of distributing this information. -GAWollman To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-hubs" in the body of the message From owner-freebsd-hubs Thu May 25 5:17:52 2000 Delivered-To: freebsd-hubs@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.unpar.ac.id (star-3.unpar.ac.id [203.109.5.3]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 0801A37BF33 for ; Thu, 25 May 2000 05:17:34 -0700 (PDT) (envelope-from 6296071@student.unpar.ac.id) Received: from student.unpar.ac.id (root@student [203.109.5.10]) by mx1.unpar.ac.id (8.9.3/8.9.3) with ESMTP id TAA25416 for ; Thu, 25 May 2000 19:31:45 +0700 (JAVT) X-UNPAR-MX1-From: 6296071@student.unpar.ac.id X-UNPAR-MX1-To: Received: from localhost (6296071@localhost) by student.unpar.ac.id (8.10.1/8.10.1u) with ESMTP id e4PJOq891238 for ; Thu, 25 May 2000 19:24:54 GMT Date: Thu, 25 May 2000 19:24:52 +0000 (GMT) From: Sugianto Yonatha <6296071@student.unpar.ac.id> To: hubs@freebsd.org Subject: www.id.freebsd.org Message-ID: MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: TEXT/PLAIN; charset=US-ASCII Sender: owner-freebsd-hubs@FreeBSD.ORG Precedence: bulk X-Loop: FreeBSD.org Dear Sir, I would like become WWW mirror (www.freebsd.org) and can I have domain www.id.freebsd.org?
