That's the strange thing: just the java compilers fail to work! The machine are actually an ISP working 24 x 7 with a lot of sofware installed on them and they only go down when I install a new kernel and makeworld: {526} /tmp>w 12:45PM up 17 days, 11:36, 3 users, load averages: 0.17, 0.08, 0.03 USER TTY FROM LOGIN@ IDLE WHAT > I'll be happy to compile a code snippet for you if you send it to me, just > to see if it will work on my box. Thank you for you help, but as you can see the compiler itself fails to run! I've seen this exact thing before, but under 4.0-current. Java needs to poke inside structures used by the dynamic linker, so if their layout changes at all, all hell breaks loose. I don't know if it should be so or not , but FLOWCONTROL_NONE is set by modifying c_cflag only . c_cflag &= ~ ( XON | XOFF | CRTSCTS ) . But in termios spec. I saw that for supporting XON/XOFF is resposible c_iflag. ?? So possibly it should be c_cflag &= ~ CRTSCTS ; c_iflag &= ~ ( XON | XOFF ) ; ( Found code is in libSerial.c ) Thank you . It keeps telling me that it cannot load a class file from a jar file, even though it can do so. It seems related to the CLASSPATH setting, but I'm not sure what the problem might be. LikeEver% export CLASSPATH= LikeEver% jre -cp client.jar games.client.GameClient localhost Class not found: games.client.GameClient LikeEver% export CLASSPATH=/usr/local/jdk1.1.8/lib/classes.zip:/usr/local/swing-1.1.1fcs/swingall.jar LikeEver% jre -cp client.jar games.client.GameClient localhost LikeEver% What's more, if I unset the classpath and look at jre -v I get the following: LikeEver% export CLASSPATH= LikeEver% jre -v -cp client.jar games.client.GameClient localhost [Loaded java/lang/Thread.class from /usr/local/jdk1.1.8/lib/classes.zip] ... ... [Loaded java/lang/Compiler.class from /usr/local/jdk1.1.8/lib/classes.zip] [Loaded games/client/GameClient.class from client.jar] Class not found: games.client.GameClient LikeEver% It loads the class from the jar file, and then turns around and tells me it's not there. %-) Is this FreeBSD specific?
