FreeBSD SYSTEMS PROGRAMMER WITH KERNEL LEVEL & DEVICE DRIVER EXPERIENCE (Gold Coast) My client is one of the largest telco vendors in the world known for their wireless communications products. They are currently developing a comprehensive suite of data comms products in R&D centers around the world. They have recently established a presence on the Gold Coast, reporting to the US, developing router software utilising FreeBSD & C. They require 2 Unix systems programmers with at least 3-5 years experience to work at the kernel level. The successful candidates will take a leading role in the development activities as well as mentoring junior staff. Candidates are required to strong C and Unix Kernel experience writing software that "Knocks on hardware". Candidates need to be flexible, team oriented and must be able to work on all phases of the software development lifecycle. The role will involve travel to Silicon Valley that could be as frequent as every two months for one to two weeks at a time. The client is relocating to an address within walking distance to rail, shops, entertainment and restaurants on the Gold Coast. Housing on the Gold Coast is considerably less expensive than Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. The team is very talented and they foster a strong collaborative environment. A competitive salary will be offered $80k - low $100ks. Relocation assistance will be provided for successful interstate candidates.
