FreeBSD seems to crash whenever it's about to probe my second CD drive. My setup is like this: Primary IDE -> Maxtor 20GB harddisk, UDMA66 (with appropriate cable) Secondary IDE -> Philips 40x CD-ROM (Master) and HP CD-Writer 9100e (Slave). FreeBSD detects my Maxtor drive and my Philips drive, but it crashes after it found the Philips drive. Verbose boot says it's enabling PIO mode on ata1-slave, but nothing after that happends. It does not matter if I boot from my harddisk or the FreeBSD CD-ROM. FreeBSD 4.2 and 4.3 behave exactly the same. Can someone please help me? Thanks! --Rink To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-hardware" in the body of the message
