In 24-48 hours I'm going to commit a few changes to the website that introduce a dependency on an XML/XSL processor -- namely, libxslt (ports/textproc/libxslt). I've updated the textproc/docproj meta-port as necessary. Please update the port (or install libxslt manually), so that the website build on your mirrors will continue to work. If they are only mirroring content, they should not be affected. If they are mirroring the doc sources, and then building the HTML webpages from the DocBook sources, then they apparently already have some kind of build framework to convert DocBook to HTML. I guess they'll just need to build/install libxslt, and rebuild the utilities that need it from the DocBook->HTML conversion chain. If I were to go get something to eat and then catch a few hours' nap, my messages just might become a little bit more parseable.. G'luck, Peter -- because I didn't think of a good beginning of it. Yes it will. That downloads a collection of .sgml files and some framework that requires various tools be installed, such as sgmlnorm. I'm adding to that toolchain. In 24-48 hours the build will also require xsltproc. The easiest way to ensure that you have the necessary toolchain installed is to cd /usr/ports/textproc/docproj make JADETEX=3Dno install and to watch for changes in the revision number of the docproj port. At www.cz.FreeBSD.org, we are two interested people: * I read -hubs and maintain services (FTP, CVSup, WWW). * Friend reads -doc and he makes WWW data mirroring and joins our minimal Czech translations, where English pages are built from sources and some Czech pages are joined then. So I would be pleased, if you cross post some important things, which can break build process or services such as this - better to know both of us than none of us, when one is out. If I can have one more question, on www.FreeBSD.org on index page, there is "Changes to the web site go live at 0800 and 2000 UTC every day." Is it truth? I'm not sure about this and previous (telnet warning) and last changes to index page shown, that there is some different (much slower???) mechanism. Is it possible to explain us exact mirroring mechanism on www.FreeBSD.org? The textproc/docproj meta port, and the various doc.*.mk files all use OpenJade if the machine architecture is set to "alpha", so this should be a non-issue. This has been the case for months. Correct. Everybody, please listen to Cejka and do what he says. :-) The "www" collection has two "releases". With "release=cvs" you get the sources, and you have to build them yourself. With "release=current" you get the already-formatted web site, all ready for Apache to deliver. If you are running a CVSup mirror you can find descriptions of all the collections and releases in "/usr/local/etc/cvsup/sup/README". You need atleast 3 GB partition (currently 2.1 GB) and start with port net/cvsup-mirror. However, you are not an official mirror, so you can not use cvsup-master.freebsd.org. Select one of mirrors near you. Updates on official mirrors are usually (I hope) performed hourly. -- Rudolf Cejka (cejkar@dcse.fee.vutbr.cz; http://www.fee.vutbr.cz/~cejkar) Brno University of Technology, Faculty of El.
