Sorry. There is only "free", "horizontal" and "vertical". "free" is the manual way. It just sets the mFixedSize in any case to the value that is not -1. This is why you get a bigger vertical size. Can I have the whole code maybe? Look like you are using a vertical arrangement. I should fix this, btw. It's on my TODO now. It's on my TODO now. well I'll try to take a look too. This is also an "API" problem in the sense that I do not feel the behavior is precisely defined. :) So I attach the file that "triggered" my problems. Just look at the end of the file for the (only) resize statement. IMO, this file should also be put in the CVS, but I do not know where. Maybe release/include? In here, I have a button "console" in the label editor which pops up the console (posted here yesterday).=20 However, this console is unusuable because it pops up *under* all the other windows, plus it doesn't get the focus. Usually, when my mouse enters a window, my WM gives it the focus. Now here it *does* give it the focus, but the other windows somehow "take it back". It's really odd. At any rate, the window is unusable, until I close the label editor, in which case the console stays open, and is now usuable. Oh, and the disklabel window is *raised* when it steals the focus, thing that shouldn't happen, normally. I guess everyone will be able to test this when the files will be committed to the tree. I have posted enough code on the list already. :) My WM is Sawfish. In other words, if you see disklabel.tcl as a "library", it should not call "exit". But this makes tclh just "wait" when the disklabel window is closed (hidden). Is there a way to have tclh exit when the last window closes? Or make such a check? BTW: the label editor is still "read-only". Edition facilities coming soon to an interpreter near you. This means that if everything goes fine, the changes (vnconfigs, mounts) "fold back" (ie vnconfig -u, umount) properly. If a given target fails, however, these things are not cleaned, which is desirable, in that case. - There is only now one include (which are causing problems, see head Makefile): Makefile.inc. - Fix bug introduced in rev 1.2 where the wrong variable name for mfsroot.flp was used - Add $FreeBSD$ to Makefile.inc - make a proper clean target (and an example of how to have a non-failing call to a make target :) - a plain "make" call works now Revision Changes Path 1.3 +142 -13 libh/release/floppies/Makefile 1.4 +14 -24 libh/release/floppies/Makefile.inc To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-libh" in the body of the message From owner-freebsd-libh Wed Oct 17 21:26:14 2001 Delivered-To: freebsd-libh@freebsd.org Received: from tomts7-srv.bellnexxia.net (tomts7.bellnexxia.net [209.226.175.40]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 5795E37B403 for ; Wed, 17 Oct 2001 21:26:10 -0700 (PDT) Received: from khan.anarcat.dyndns.org ([65.94.128.156]) by tomts7-srv.bellnexxia.net (InterMail vM.4.01.03.16 201-229-121-116-20010115) with ESMTP id <20011018042609.BMNX2701.tomts7-srv.bellnexxia.net@khan.anarcat.dyndns.org> for ; Thu, 18 Oct 2001 00:26:09 -0400 Received: from shall.anarcat.dyndns.org (shall.anarcat.dyndns.org [192.168.0.1]) by khan.anarcat.dyndns.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id AAE3A19C7 for ; Thu, 18 Oct 2001 00:26:06 -0400 (EDT) Received: by shall.anarcat.dyndns.org (Postfix, from userid 1000) id 44BAC20AF3; Thu, 18 Oct 2001 00:26:28 -0400 (EDT) Date: Thu, 18 Oct 2001 00:26:28 -0400 From: The Anarcat To: libh@FreeBSD.org Subject: Re: cvs commit: libh/release/floppies Makefile Makefile.inc Makefile.1440 Makefile.mfsroot Message-ID: <20011018002628.A471@shall.anarcat.dyndns.org> References: <200110180424.f9I4OWO50118@usw4.freebsd.org> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: multipart/signed; micalg=pgp-sha1; protocol="application/pgp-signature"; boundary="HlL+5n6rz5pIUxbD" Content-Disposition: inline In-Reply-To: <200110180424.f9I4OWO50118@usw4.freebsd.org> User-Agent: Mutt/1.3.22.1i Sender: owner-freebsd-libh@FreeBSD.ORG Precedence: bulk List-ID: List-Archive: (Web Archive) List-Help: (List Instructions) List-Subscribe: List-Unsubscribe: X-Loop: FreeBSD.ORG --HlL+5n6rz5pIUxbD Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: inline sorry for this fat commit and commitlog, but this needed a lot of cleanup IMHO. It's really easy to jump the "cp" step and just need ${CONF}/LIBH-BOOT. If we include LIBH-BOOT in the repository, we're getting in a fun game of chasing various config files (GENERIC vs PCCARD vs LINT vs NOTES) in various trees (4.x vs 5.x). Yuk. I think we should move all the distribs in (finer-grained?) packages so that we have more control over the upgrade procedures, etc. Currently, when someone installs the "bin" distro, he doesn't have any idea of what is being put on the system, basically. It's just a plain tar zfxv -. :( In other words, everything should be packages, and the distrib concept should be scrapped and replaced by "packages" and "third-party packages". I thought that this was general consensus. Does this commit go against this? I personnally thought libh also had a mission of kicking out the door the old distrib concept. :) A. Odd, it builds for me. I think I know what the problem was.. When I started my work on libh, I installed the port. Now, I removed it and it seems to compile fine. Probably that it linked to the libh* libs in /usr/local/lib instead of the working directories... And in fact: cc -g -fpic -DPIC -I/usr/local/include/tcl8.3 -I/u/anarcat/libh/compile/none/../../include -static -o tclh.static tclh.o -ltcl83 -L/usr/local/lib -lm -L../../lib/tcl -L../../lib/common -lhtcl -lh -L/u/anarcat/libh/compile/none -L../../lib/file -lhtclfile -lhfile -L../../lib/disk -lhtcldisk -lhdisk -L../../lib/hui -lhtclhui -lhui -L../../lib/sysinstall -lhtclsysinstall -lhsysinstall -L../../lib/database -lhdatabase -lstdc++ -ldisk -lfetch -lz -lcom_err -lm we see that -L/usr/local/lib is the first in the list. I don't know if it has any effect, but probably that it should be pushed at the end so that the building libs are picked up before the ones in /usr/local/lib... I think I'll commit a fix for that now... The perl script that constructs the TCL interface searches for LanguageInterface::Object::ClassDescription ([^\s]+)::sClassDescription in many of the *.cd.cc files; this regular expression does not allow a newline in the sClassDescription declaration. In Revision 1.4 of Database.cd.cc a newline was introduced to the Database::sClassDescription which removed the Database methods from the generated TCL interface, thus breaking the pkgtools/create_db.tcl script (and possibly other tcl scripts). Extend package framework with middle layer API and system packages 2. Work concept of system packages into the FreeBSD tree 3. Create library with basic portupgrade functionality and network protocol 4. Write applications that use this library to update the system Use of binup and the source tree should not be mutually exclusive. It should be possible to upgrade a system from source, then a month later, upgrade it with binup, and then return using the source tree without hassle. This is not trivial, but assumedly could be accomplished by using the mk makefiles to register system components in the package database as it installs them. Additionally, after the client library is completed, I would like to make usage of a binup server a valid means of installation for libh.
