i dont think i have overlooked anything completely obvious, but i 
cant see an answer to this in any of the docs:

I have a 3.x distribution from FTP, and access to a CD-burner, so 
what layout do i need to use to write the files onto a CD so that i 
can boot or just install from this (i'm not sure the motherboard 
supports CD-booting)
