It reads as follows: The passwd file is generated from the master.password file by pwd_mkdb(8), has the class, change, and expire fields removed, and the password field replaced by a ``*''. The /etc/passwd file is generated from /etc/master.passwd. It's also interesting to note that this manpage doesn't state the location of either of these files. Would it be possible for a FILES section to be created with both of them listed?
