I see transfer stalls of 45sec and more and average transfer rates *below* 1KB/s. I see this behaviour for about 2 month now (under -current)... Of course I checked all available debugging and loggin features of i4b, but a least I myself can't see anything abnormal - I'm using i4b under -stable for several years now and I'm totally commited to i4b since then. BTW: The mentioned stalls occur with isp-Interfaces as well as with ipr-Interfaces, so I don't think that sppp is of any concern here. I'm using a Teles 16.3 ISA-Card without PnP and I reserved the IRQ 10 of that card in the BIOS-Setup... anyway, it's working flawlessly on the same hardware under -stable. So - any hints from the ISDN-Gurus? Known behaviour? Reasons? Things like INVARIANTS, INVARIANT_SUPPORT, WITNESS and WITNESS_SKIPSPIN ? This can kill performance. I remember seeing lousy performance under -current too, until I turned off _all_ the debugging stuff. In fact, unless you're doing development under -current, it's generally a good idea to just turn off all the debugging stuff. (Secret Hacker Rule #11: Hackers read manuals. :-) Really, I tried to do my best to find any mistake I made, especially because I'm a new and unexperienced 'player' of -current, and so I read the 'usual suspicious', where I found these hints to turn off debugging code, compile with -DNO_WERROR and so on... Do you mean chances are good that we can have the possibility to build a analog dialup and fax and ISDN Gateway with this single card and a single So-Bus (stable and reliable)? I will donate one! Maybe we can meet on Stammtisch (don't know right know > if tomottrow will happen). > Well, if the Linux driver supports all that then it should be possible to get it working under FreeBSD also. Note that I have not looked at the Linux driver, yet. If you can get me a card then I'm willing to try porting the Linux driver to FreeBSD. I'm in Grafing, so we could maybe meet in Munich. I thought that the Stammtisch had been canceled for this week because no-one had suggested where to hold it. Maybe I'm wrong, but I was talking to Julian Stacey today and he wasn't aware of any plans. --- Gary Jennejohn / garyj@jennejohn.org gj@freebsd.org gj@denx.de To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-isdn" in the body of the message
