Eugh ! This looks bad. Part of the problem is that ifpi2_recover doesn't work right at the moment because I couldn't figure out what to do there :-/ I'll take another look at it. But the ``cannot access S0 bus'' looks really weird. I've never seen that and can only conclude that somehow the card can't see the ISDN bus. Perhaps something has changed in 4.6 ? I haven't used this driver for months and never under -stable. Maybe you coulkd try it with sppp ? That's how I tested it. I'm not sure that the driver works correctly with the RBCH interfaces. Also, maybe someone on the ISDN list has an idea (Hellmuth ?). --- Gary Jennejohn / garyj@jennejohn.org gj@freebsd.org gj@denx.de To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-isdn" in the body of the message From owner-freebsd-isdn Mon Jul 15 2:57: 5 2002 Delivered-To: freebsd-isdn@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.FreeBSD.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 4B9A637B401 for ; Mon, 15 Jul 2002 02:57:03 -0700 (PDT) Received: from arg1.demon.co.uk (arg1.demon.co.uk [62.49.12.213]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id D215543E31 for ; Mon, 15 Jul 2002 02:57:02 -0700 (PDT) (envelope-from arg-bsd@arg1.demon.co.uk) Received: by arg1.demon.co.uk (Postfix, from userid 1002) id 30A6A9B02; Mon, 15 Jul 2002 10:56:58 +0100 (BST) Received: from localhost (localhost [127.0.0.1]) by arg1.demon.co.uk (Postfix) with ESMTP id 2916E5D28; Mon, 15 Jul 2002 10:56:58 +0100 (BST) Date: Mon, 15 Jul 2002 10:56:58 +0100 (BST) From: Andrew Gordon X-X-Sender: To: Gary Jennejohn Cc: Subject: Re: I can only send 30 packackes through my ISDN connection In-Reply-To: <200207150829.g6F8Tc3l007302@peedub.jennejohn.org> Message-ID: <20020715104814.N1489-100000@server.arg.sj.co.uk> MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: TEXT/PLAIN; charset=US-ASCII Sender: owner-freebsd-isdn@FreeBSD.ORG Precedence: bulk List-ID: List-Archive: (Web Archive) List-Help: (List Instructions) List-Subscribe: List-Unsubscribe: X-Loop: FreeBSD.org On Mon, 15 Jul 2002, Gary Jennejohn wrote: > > Maybe you coulkd try it with sppp ? The only problem I still have is that with full D-channel debugging enabled it drops packets (fair enough, you might say...), but then triggers some bug in the state machines so that it doesn't recover when the debugging is turned off again. I still haven't found time to investigate further; maybe I'll get some free time over the summer. I'm not > sure that the driver works correctly with the RBCH interfaces. O.k. i will try to find a working configuration with (i)sppp. Sorry, but i am very new to BSD so it may take a while. Thanks again, Martin. PS: After testing my setup and ping'ing around the world i had a problem mounting my cdrom (IO-error or anything like that). After a reboot it worked again. The system is a 'Microstar Professional 2260' box. I have no clue, if this could be related. -- The early bird catches the worm. If you want something else for breakfast, get up later. Yesterday after a reboot i was able to ping out a lot of packages - no problem. But no /cdrom: IO-Error. After another reboot the /cdrom worked again, but after that pinging could not send out a single packages. isdnmonitor was quiet - no error - nothing - no activity only messages on the first console IIRC. After another reboot, i was able to ping again, but now it stopped after 34 packages as usual. I attach the complete /var/log/messages file (i deleted its contents just before the reboot, so everything should be in there. Is it normal, that ifconfig tun0 puts out that many connections? tun0: flags=8051 mtu 1500 inet 192.169.3.1 --> 192.169.3.2 netmask 0xffffff00 inet 217.2.35.81 --> 255.255.255.255 netmask 0xffffffff inet 217.2.35.69 --> 217.5.119.161 netmask 0xffffff00 Opened by PID 135 I built my own kernel in order to use ISDN. Are the entries sensitive to ordering? I attach the config file for the kernel, too together with the output of dmesg. Jul 15 19:57:05 keksy /kernel: config> di sn0 ... come from? I suppose they are from some bootloader stage. I use lilo as my first level bootmanager. In the message file, there is an entry Jul 15 19:57:05 keksy /kernel: pci0: (vendor=0x1813, dev=0x4000) at 8.0 irq 11 - what's that? Its interrupt seems to be shared by ohci[01], pcm0 and rl0. Is that correct? At the start of the i4b-problem i have an entry Jul 15 20:02:18 keksy /kernel: i4b-L1 ifpi2_isacsx_exir_hdlr: EXIRQ Rx Frame Overflow Jul 15 20:02:18 keksy /kernel: i4b-L1 ifpi2_isacsx_irq: unit 0: Data Overrun error Where can that come from, when i only sent out about 30 icmp packages? Can 4.6's problem with some ATA controllers be the problem for my cdrom and even for the ISDN-card? Can PCI-cards cause irq-conflicts at all? I found a i4b-co2stable-kit.tar.gz somewhere on the i4b site. Is this worth a try or is it just outdated for 4.6? A problem would be the missing internet connection... Sorry for the many questions but i would like to come up to speed with FreeBSD and start doing some real programming work on it. Thanks a lot for your help Martin. -- The early bird catches the worm.
