What i am not clear about is: 1) frames lost: how is this stat measured? does the source notify the client about the number of frames it should have got and then client compares it with what its actually got? 2)Packets Lost: when i play a video of a known file ,in conditions without congestion, i get 6000 packets received and no packets lost.but under conditions of congestion, the same file stats are something like 2500 receieved and 600 lost. But the received and lost dont ad up to 6000?so whats happening? any help would be appreciated. In -stable, after mmap'ing dsp device any attempt to write into the mapped memory results in SIGBUS, which obviously kills wine. Attached please find a simple test case, which illustrates the problem. The problem has been verified on original Creative SB16 ISA and Intel 82801BA (ICH2), so that it is unlikely to be an issue with a specific driver/hardware. Any ideas what could be wrong? I am puzzled, because the audio code is essentially the same in -stable and in -current. If the groups get flooded by several similar e-mails in the next day or two, I apologize in advance there are several e-mails hung in my works e-mail server for some reason :( I was trying to figure out how to find out the bitrates and then reduce the bitrates of my mp3s on my freebsd 4.4-stable server. I found MP3:Info which will display bitrate and other information about an mp3. I also found that I can convert mp3 -> mp3 using LAME. So this is what I am trying to do now. I would like to write a script to read the bitrate of an mp3 and then if the bitrate is higher then 192 to dump the path/filename to a text file. When I run MP3::Info, the output looks like this. Track = zong_-_ugly_world_-money_mix-.mp3 BITRATE = 160 Is there a simple shell script string that would be something like this? If BITRATE > 192 then add path/filename to textfile.txt Thanks for any help. Oh, if you do reply, please also reply directly as I am also unable to get signed up for the mailing lists either for some reason. :( J To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-multimedia" in the body of the message From owner-freebsd-multimedia Sat Oct 26 12:51:46 2002 Delivered-To: freebsd-multimedia@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 380E937B401 for ; Sat, 26 Oct 2002 12:51:44 -0700 (PDT) Received: from boreas.isi.edu (boreas.isi.edu [128.9.160.161]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id AA39343E4A for ; Sat, 26 Oct 2002 12:51:43 -0700 (PDT) (envelope-from larse@ISI.EDU) Received: from isi.edu (nik.isi.edu [128.9.168.58]) by boreas.isi.edu (8.11.6/8.11.2) with ESMTP id g9QJpbC03370 for ; Sat, 26 Oct 2002 12:51:37 -0700 (PDT) Message-ID: <3DBAF248.4050304@isi.edu> Date: Sat, 26 Oct 2002 12:51:36 -0700 From: Lars Eggert User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i386; en-US; rv:1.2b) Gecko/20021016 X-Accept-Language: en-us, de-de MIME-Version: 1.0 To: multimedia@freebsd.org Subject: fxtv on -current Content-Type: multipart/signed; protocol="application/x-pkcs7-signature"; micalg=sha1; boundary="------------ms080502030509040803080604" Sender: owner-freebsd-multimedia@FreeBSD.ORG Precedence: bulk List-ID: List-Archive: (Web Archive) List-Help: (List Instructions) List-Subscribe: List-Unsubscribe: X-Loop: FreeBSD.org This is a cryptographically signed message in MIME format. --------------ms080502030509040803080604 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii; format=flowed Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Hi, to compile fxtv on -current, I had to add "#include " in tvcapture.c, so u_char and u_int were defined. It's like that on all my machines, with all sound drivers. Recording works fine with 8 bit samples, but cannot be used because of bad quality. Since I upgraded to 4.7R, I don't capture sound any more. Ffmpeg does record sound (if I turn up the recording volume, I get audible static), it just doesn't seem to activate the audio output of the tuner any more. This is also apparent from the absence of audio during the recording -- I usually set the mixer so that I hear the audio from the line input at the speakers. Mencoder does not have this problem, it still records audio. But with Mencoder I can only grab 6 to 7 fps :-( Any clues? -- Regards, Georg. Strange, this is achieved by simply opening /dev/tuner0 (it still works for me on 4.7-STABLE about two weeks old). The only other thing it depends on is proper mixer settings (record level and device are classic gotchas). Is /dev/tuner0 still there and writeable to whichever user runs ffmpeg ? Mencoder and ffmpeg do this in exactly the same way. -- C:>WIN | Directable Mirrors The computer obeys and wins. |A Better Way To Focus The Sun You lose and Bill collects. | licenses available - see: | http://www.sohara.org/ To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-multimedia" in the body of the message
