I installed FreeBSD 4.4 and XFree86 4.1. I built the agpgart driver and added the line to /boot/loader.conf. I also have an IBM P96 monitor, but when I run XFree86 -configure the monitor goes into powersave mode and I have to reboot the machine. If I use xf86config when I specify i810 as the video card then I get the same phenomena when I try to start X (actually there is a little flash of color, then the screen goes black, then the monitor goes into powersave mode). I am specifying the horizontal and vertical refressh ranges that came in the P96 documentation If I use the vga driver, I can get X started but the resolution is too high so I can only see a fraction of the desktop. I downloaded the latest BIOS and applied it, but it didn't change any of this behavior. I have done a lot of searches but can't seem to find anything that quite matches what I am seeing. Does anyone have any suggestions on things I can try?
