These appear to be the problem. Since nothing has changed in sym(4) for a long time, this has to be elsewhere, perhaps in dma system. It would help if you could download the archive for cvs-all for those dates and do a grep for RELENG_4. ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/doc/mailing-lists/archive -Nate To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-scsi" in the body of the message From owner-freebsd-scsi Mon Dec 30 11: 4:40 2002 Delivered-To: freebsd-scsi@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 92ACE37B476 for ; Mon, 30 Dec 2002 11:04:34 -0800 (PST) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (freefall.freebsd.org [216.136.204.21]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 2762E43E4A for ; Mon, 30 Dec 2002 11:04:34 -0800 (PST) (envelope-from owner-bugmaster@freebsd.org) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (peter@localhost [127.0.0.1]) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.12.6/8.12.6) with ESMTP id gBUJ4YNS075432 for ; Mon, 30 Dec 2002 11:04:34 -0800 (PST) (envelope-from owner-bugmaster@freebsd.org) Received: (from peter@localhost) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.12.6/8.12.6/Submit) id gBUJ4XCF075426 for scsi@freebsd.org; Mon, 30 Dec 2002 11:04:33 -0800 (PST) Date: Mon, 30 Dec 2002 11:04:33 -0800 (PST) Message-Id: <200212301904.gBUJ4XCF075426@freefall.freebsd.org> X-Authentication-Warning: freefall.freebsd.org: peter set sender to owner-bugmaster@freebsd.org using -f From: FreeBSD bugmaster To: scsi@FreeBSD.org Subject: Current problem reports assigned to you Sender: owner-freebsd-scsi@FreeBSD.ORG Precedence: bulk List-ID: List-Archive: (Web Archive) List-Help: (List Instructions) List-Subscribe: List-Unsubscribe: X-Loop: FreeBSD.org Current FreeBSD problem reports Critical problems S Submitted Tracker Resp. My guess is that the WD guys didn't set their additional inquiry length correctly and/or the length is correct, but they fail to issue an ignore wide residue for the last transfer. The problem only shows up now because we properly calculate the extra inquiry length. Perhaps we should do what Gerard suggested and round up to an even transfer size. -- Justin To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-scsi" in the body of the message From owner-freebsd-scsi Mon Dec 30 14:56:10 2002 Delivered-To: freebsd-scsi@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 1C8C337B401 for ; Mon, 30 Dec 2002 14:56:08 -0800 (PST) Received: from web14806.mail.yahoo.com (web14806.mail.yahoo.com [216.136.224.222]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with SMTP id CAD4943EC5 for ; Mon, 30 Dec 2002 14:56:07 -0800 (PST) (envelope-from mccrobie2000@yahoo.com) Message-ID: <20021230225607.51427.qmail@web14806.mail.yahoo.com> Received: from [209.9.228.163] by web14806.mail.yahoo.com via HTTP; Mon, 30 Dec 2002 14:56:07 PST Date: Mon, 30 Dec 2002 14:56:07 -0800 (PST) From: Chuck McCrobie Subject: Re: SCSI Problems with sym and Western Digital on FreeBSD 4.7-stable To: "Justin T. Maybe I'll have to break out the SCSI spec. and the bus analyzer... Chuck McCrobie __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Mail Plus - Powerful. Affordable.
