My rc.conf has the following; network_interfaces="lo0 rl0 rl1" ifconfig_lo0="inet 127.0.0.1" ifconfig_rl0="inet 139.142.90.250 netmask 255.255.255.0" ifconfig_rl1="inet 139.142.165.225 netmask 255.255.255.240" ifconfig_rl1_alias0="inet 139.142.164.241 netmask 255.255.255.240" ifconfig_rl1_alias1="inet 139.142.165.222 netmask 255.255.255.224" ifconfig_rl1_alias2="inet 139.142.163.1 netmask 255.255.255.128" ifconfig_rl1_alias3="inet 139.142.165.65 netmask 255.255.255.224" In the rc.network file; alias=0 Which I assume is the default setting. The problem is that only the alias0 is configured on boot up. If I change the alias= line to alias=1 then only alias1 is configured and the same for alias=2 then alias2 is configured. Is this a limitation of the floppy/PicoBSD or I am missing something completely. Any insight would be greatly appreciated, thank you. -- Sean Peterson System Administrator Valley Internet Providers Ltd. 250.770.1384 systemadmin@vip.net To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-small" in the body of the message From owner-freebsd-small Tue Mar 5 14:31:21 2002 Delivered-To: freebsd-small@freebsd.org Received: from ns1.infowest.com (ns1.infowest.com [204.17.177.10]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 050EF37B42B for ; Tue, 5 Mar 2002 14:30:46 -0800 (PST) Received: from there (208.186.107.222.dsl.infowest.net [208.186.107.222]) by ns1.infowest.com (Postfix) with SMTP id 4DBF021231; Tue, 5 Mar 2002 15:30:44 -0700 (MST) Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" From: Samuel J.Greear Organization: GetMegabits, Inc. (The author is a co-worker of mine, as such I have had access to releases for a while now). I have found it to be generally less annoying and more functional than PicoBSD. There are a couple of console interfaces that make configuring various things easier (see screenshots on the site). Works great if you need to throw a NATBox together in about 30 seconds. Basically, I have slightly restructured the rc* files, you can see ho in the commit message for src/release/picobsd/mfs_tree/etc/rc (on both HEAD and RELENG_4). On RELENG_4 i have gone a step further, by nuking some irrimediably outdated configurations, and making sure that some of the others at least reach the stage of letting the user login at the console. The only missing one (will work on it tonight) is the "router" image. As usual, the best working one is the "bridge" image. If someone is willing to try the new code, feedback is welcome. I could not test things on CURRENT because my cross-compile environment is broken at the moment. cheers luigi To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-small" in the body of the message From owner-freebsd-small Sat Mar 9 13:58:15 2002 Delivered-To: freebsd-small@freebsd.org Received: from iguana.icir.org (iguana.icir.org [192.150.187.36]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 020EA37B416 for ; Sat, 9 Mar 2002 13:58:11 -0800 (PST) Received: (from rizzo@localhost) by iguana.icir.org (8.11.6/8.11.3) id g29LwAY26331; Sat, 9 Mar 2002 13:58:10 -0800 (PST) (envelope-from rizzo) Date: Sat, 9 Mar 2002 13:58:10 -0800 From: Luigi Rizzo To: small@freebsd.org Subject: picobsd manpage update Message-ID: <20020309135810.B26120@iguana.icir.org> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: inline User-Agent: Mutt/1.3.23i Sender: owner-freebsd-small@FreeBSD.ORG Precedence: bulk List-ID: List-Archive: (Web Archive) List-Help: (List Instructions) List-Subscribe: List-Unsubscribe: X-Loop: FreeBSD.ORG FYI I have just committed a lot of changes to the picobsd manpage, reflecting the (partial) restructuring of the latter couple of days. cheers luigi ----- Forwarded message from Luigi Rizzo ----- Date: Sat, 9 Mar 2002 12:16:06 -0800 (PST) From: Luigi Rizzo Subject: cvs commit: src/share/man/man8 picobsd.8 To: cvs-committers@FreeBSD.ORG, cvs-all@FreeBSD.ORG luigi 2002/03/09 12:16:06 PST Modified files: share/man/man8 picobsd.8 Log: Lots of updates on the install process, detailing how to install PicoBSD on hard disks and CDROM images, and on the bootstrap sequence and the places where you can customise a PicoBSD image.
