I am in the middle of a project for an embedded system, which
requires a display.
Nothing great on one hand, on the other, it should be able to
display
vector graphics and some (quite simple) forms.

I am already searching the "embedded"-sites, getting more and
more
confused about the pro's and con's of pico-gui, microwindows,
tiny-x, ...

Has anybody experience with FreeBSD and one of these ?

The requirements are:
- small footprint (!)
- some support for (quite basic) widgets
	(like Textbox, Checkbox, list, button)
- support to display vector graphics
- client / server architecture is _not_ required
( a "simple" lib also would do - hopefully saving space)

Target system is a 486, 32MB, SVGA, diskless
(currently testing an Advantech SBC)

Thanks in advance for sharing your experience!

I'd also be interested in experiences deploying
X on low-end embedded FreeBSD systems. If I'm
reading xpert-admin right, things called "tiny x"
(and perhaps "Tiny X") are obsolete, and the
different system named "TinyX" has been renamed
"KDrive" (are these assumptions true?):

 http://www.xfree86.org/pipermail/xpert/2002-November/022770.html

There seems to have been a recent thread
regarding building KDrive (it seems in the
RH Linux enviroment):

 http://www.xfree86.org/pipermail/xpert/2002-November/022831.html

Kdrive (I guess properly Xkdrive) has a man page:

 http://www.xfree86.org/current/Xkdrive.1.html

I wonder if the k is for Keith?

Does anyone have any current experience with
kdrive under FreeBSD?

Has anyone taken some notes on getting the product of luigi's pico ssh port
integrated into a net or isp version of picobsd?

I had a workaround using telnet but my configs from a 4.5-Release build no
longer appear to work since i've updated to 4.-stable.

TIA

look at the bridge's crunch.conf, should be pretty straightforward

BOOT_COMCONSOLE_SPEED=115200
at /etc/mak.conf. at last make the boot block and build my picobsd , but
it seams still not works for me.
