Try it out. Get something running, however crude and ugly you may think it is. A working proof-of- concept is worth far more than any long description. Your support will come from your users. Make your ideas widely known, have something to show them, and they'll come. If everyone waited for official sanction, nothing would ever happen. FWIW, none of FreshPorts, FreshSource, and The FreeBSD Diary received any type of "official sanction" before they were started. -- Dan Langille : http://www.langille.org/ To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-advocacy" in the body of the message From owner-freebsd-advocacy Sat Mar 8 3: 9:51 2003 Delivered-To: freebsd-advocacy@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 1089537B401 for ; Sat, 8 Mar 2003 03:09:50 -0800 (PST) Received: from xeon.unixathome.org (bast.unixathome.org [66.11.174.150]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 458A443F93 for ; Sat, 8 Mar 2003 03:09:49 -0800 (PST) (envelope-from dan@langille.org) Received: by xeon.unixathome.org (Postfix, from userid 1000) id C9CDE3F4A; Sat, 8 Mar 2003 06:10:57 -0500 (EST) Received: from localhost (localhost [127.0.0.1]) by xeon.unixathome.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id BD6AB3F49; Sat, 8 Mar 2003 06:10:57 -0500 (EST) Date: Sat, 8 Mar 2003 06:10:57 -0500 (EST) From: Dan Langille X-X-Sender: dan@xeon.unixathome.org To: Nigel Weeks Cc: freebsd-advocacy@freebsd.org Subject: RE: User and Machine Stats In-Reply-To: <000501c2e53a$f2ded970$020aa8c0@aims.private> Message-ID: <20030308061030.G63630@xeon.unixathome.org> References: <000501c2e53a$f2ded970$020aa8c0@aims.private> MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: TEXT/PLAIN; charset=US-ASCII Sender: owner-freebsd-advocacy@FreeBSD.ORG Precedence: bulk List-ID: List-Archive: (Web Archive) List-Help: (List Instructions) List-Subscribe: List-Unsubscribe: X-Loop: FreeBSD.ORG On Sat, 8 Mar 2003, Nigel Weeks wrote: > Thanks everyone.
