But it seems that it does not like the on-board Intel VE Pro/100 NIC. I checked the hardware note, it says that many Intel on-board card are supported by fxp driver. I double checked my kernel and made sure miibus and fxp are compiled into the kernel. I inserted a PCI Pro/100 NIC and it worked just fine. The on-board adapter works also fine under Windows XP and Redhat Linux 9. Does anyone here use this board as well? Any input will be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Best regards. Installing FreeBSD 4.8 was no trouble, but when I tried installing 5.0 and 5.1 a problem arised: The x335 has 1 cable for keyboard, video, mouse (KVM), and because some sort of changes has accured in the boot process between 4.8 and 5.X, the keyboard stops working if you boot with the default "values". My guess is that it has something to do with the transit to ACPI. If I boot with ACPI drivers I get: Jun 17 18:12:10 x335 kernel: atkbdc0: port 0x60,0x64 irq 1 on acpi0 Jun 17 18:12:10 x335 kernel: atkbd0: flags 0x1 irq 1 on atkbdc0 Jun 17 18:12:10 x335 kernel: atkbd: unable to set the command byte. Jun 17 18:12:10 x335 kernel: device_probe_and_attach: atkbd0 attach returned 6 Jun 17 18:12:10 x335 kernel: psm0: unable to set the command byte. If I boot without ACPI or in safe mode I get: Jun 17 18:15:14 x335 kernel: atkbdc0: at port 0x64,0x60 on isa0 Jun 17 18:15:14 x335 kernel: atkbd0: flags 0x1 irq 1 on atkbdc0 Jun 17 18:15:14 x335 kernel: kbd0 at atkbd0 Jun 17 18:15:14 x335 kernel: psm0: irq 12 on atkbdc0 and everything works "fine".
