This patch: 1.Breaks the document up into 4 sections, each with a header in the standard color. 2. Reduces the size of the links to normal text size. 3. Logically sorts the links into the 4 sections. 4. Removes the following 3 links which have already been promoted to the front page: "Contacting FreeBSD", "Search", and "Copyright". 5. Astute observers will note the "resources" page listed twice, once under "policies" and once under "technical resources". That's because IMHO that page commingles the two and ought to be split up. A separate patch will address that in the future. The set of links is otherwise entirely the same; this patch mostly attempts to fix only the presentation. A mockup of the page (some of the links will not work) can be seen on http://www.lonesome.com/FreeBSD_www/en/internal/internal.html. I'm certainly looking for feedback on this. I'm not exactly happy with any of the wording around the links, so I'm pretty open to suggestions: for me, the main irritant of this page has always been the overall (lack of) order and the huge link sizes, and that's what I've tried to address with this specific set of changes. mcl --------------020708090407040308010605 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Content-Disposition: inline; filename="diff.out" MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; name="diff.out" 4c4 < --- > 13,44c13,14 < [1]The FreeBSD.org Network < This page documents, for those with accounts on the FreeBSD.org < network, just what machine resources are currently available and the < sorts of jobs they are being provided for. < < [2]The Rtp.FreeBSD.org Network < This page documents, for those with accounts on the Rtp.FreeBSD.org < network, just what machine resources are currently available and the < sorts of jobs they are being provided for. < < [3]Resources for FreeBSD Committers < This page documents resources for FreeBSD committers. < < < [4]About the FreeBSD WWW Server < The Machine, the software, mirroring the FreeBSD Web Pages, Usage < statistics. < < [5]FreeBSD Project Staff < The FreeBSD Project is managed and operated by the following groups < of people: FreeBSD Core Team, FreeBSD Developers; who is responsible < for what. < < [6]Photos from Social Events < < [7]Personal Homepages < A list of private home pages hosted on people.FreeBSD.org. < < [8]FreeBSD Projects < In addition to the mainstream development path of FreeBSD, a number of < developer groups are working on the cutting edge to expand FreeBSD's < range of applications in new directions. --- > This page contains pointers to pages documentating aspects of > the FreeBSD project itself, as viewed separately from the codebase. 46,48c16 < [9]FreeBSD Release Engineering Process < This page documents the release engineering process for official < FreeBSD releases. --- > Projects 50,59c18,43 < [10]Release Schedules < Schedules for upcoming official releases of FreeBSD. < < [11]Contacting FreeBSD < < [12]FreeBSD Copyright < The FreeBSD Copyrights. < < [13]Search the FreeBSD Site < FreeBSD Search Services. --- > There are various > [14]> projects which lie outside the mainstream development path, > in which a number of groups are working on the 'cutting edge' > to expand FreeBSD's range of capabilities in new directions. > > Here is an overview of the > [15]> FreeBSD Release Engineering Process. > > And here you'll find the > [16]schedules for upcoming official releases > of FreeBSD. > > Policies > To avoid chaos with a project this large spread out all over > the globe, there have to be some > [17]Policies for FreeBSD Committers. > > People > > The > [18]FreeBSD Project Staff > consists of the FreeBSD Core Team and the FreeBSD Developers; this document > contains a list of them, as well as explanations of who is responsible > for what. 61,62c45,72 < [19]FreeBSD Statistics < Web statistic, FTP traffic, Release usage. --- > Here are some > [20]personal homepages > hosted at FreeBSD.org, as well as some > [21]photos from social events. > > Resources > > Here's a list of some > [22]technical resources for FreeBSD committers. > > For those with accounts on > [23]the main FreeBSD.org network, > here are the machine resources that are available and the > sorts of work they are intended for. > > For those with accounts on > [24]the rtp.FreeBSD.org network, > here are the machine resources that are available and the > sorts of work they are intended for. > > You can learn more > [25]about the FreeBSD WWW server, including > the machine, the software, mirroring the FreeBSD web pages, and > usage statistics. > > Here'a list of various > [26]FreeBSD Statistics > such as web and FTP traffic, and release usage by release version.
