Both serve a useful function--I'm not opposed to the notion of this going out to -announce, assuming it comes with the "lots of debugging enabled" performance caveat. I have some feeling that we actually need two announce lists, -announce and -devannounce or the like, but since we don't have that, I guess -announce is the place. Actually it seems to be running much slower than I remember, so I wonder if something has been pessimized on sparc64 recently. sparc64: 5237 I expect at least 5600 packages to build, based on the last sparc64 package run I was able to complete (2 months ago). Kris stated on IRC that bento mostly only has X11 packages to build, so I'd like to do the following. - snarf the built packages off of bento and build the sparc64 disc1 from them. - upload the miniiso, disc2, and ftp bits for sparc64 to ftp-master now. These two tasks are not implicitely linked, so if anyone objects to either or both, let me know. We're doing some development and published some opensource software on the internet and also hosted some opensource mirror. FYI, at the moment there's no .MY country code DNS for Malaysia and i am here to apply for DNS Administrator for 'my.FreeBSD.org' We at MyBSD will be responsible of administration of any site under 'my.FreeBSD.org' I've been a DNS server administrator in Malaysia for a number of organizations for 3 years now. The DNS i maintain include Top Level Domain, Country Secondary Level Domain and etc. I am familiar and experienced with DNS using bind 4, 8 and 9. I got "always on" internet connection at home and in the office so i can be contact all time whether by e-mail, IRC, IM, mailing list, forum or anything. I will make sure hostmaster@my.FreeBSD.org reach my personal mail box everytime. Fore more info about me, please refer to my online resume at: http://www.ded1.org/Resume_O/ There's a lot of organization in Malaysia using FreeBSD right now and we think it's the time to have own DNS for Malaysia. Please let me know if you need any further info about me or our community or our country or anything. Let me know too if you need any requirement of anything before becoming a DNS Administrator. If you think i am qualified to be DNS Administrator for Malaysia c.c. please consider my application and if you won't please let me know. Thanks in advance. ----------------------------------------------------------- QUOTES: The human mind ordinarily operates at only ten percent of its capacity -- the rest is overhead for the operating system. ----------------------------------------------------------- Ahmad Faisal aka ded1 E-mail : faisal@MyBSD.org.my,faizal@MyBSD.org.my Internet Organization WWW : http://www.ded1.org Pantai Hill Park Tel : 016 3468241 58200 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
