Is there a way to get rid of the HELP application-- other than iconizing it? So far the on-line help documentation hasn't been that much help; I can figure things out more easily by trial-and-error than by wading thru the HELP stuff. Second, can anybody tell me if there is a way of test-building and test-using the newest OpenOffice? openoffice-1.0.1_3 built and ran flawlessly te first time... After successfully building it, I can't for the life of me install it. I'm not sure if this is a Java problem or not, so I tried defining WITH_BSD_JDK, but still have troubles installing: pegmatite# make -DWITH_BSD_JDK -DWITH_TTF_BYTECODE_ENABLED time needed: 0:1:10 ------------- pegmatite# make -DWITH_BSD_JDK -DWITH_TTF_BYTECODE_ENABLED install ===> Installing for openoffice-1.0.2 ===> openoffice-1.0.2 depends on file: /usr/local/bin/perl5.6.1 - found Initializing installation program.......... ^C pegmatite# time make install ===> Installing for openoffice-1.0.2 ===> openoffice-1.0.2 depends on file: /usr/local/bin/perl5.6.1 - found Initializing installation program.......... ^C0.090u 0.247s 1:33.06 0.3% 227+406k 258+0io 8pf+0w pegmatite# uname -a FreeBSD pegmatite.sentex.ca 5.0-CURRENT FreeBSD 5.0-CURRENT #7: Tue Feb 11 09:31:43 EST 2003 damian@pegmatite.sentex.ca:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/pegmatite i386 pegmatite# And it just sits there. Nothing pops up on my screen. If I run: cd work/oo_1.0.2_src/instsetoo/unxfbsd.pro/01/normal/; ,/setup then I get the install window. I'm not really sure where to turn to on this -- should I file a PR? Is this a known problem? Is my head up my ass (entirely possible)? Is this a problem with WITH_TTF_BYTECODE_ENABLED? A quick search turns up one other install PR, but it deson't look related: http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/query-pr.cgi?pr=42777 - Damian To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-openoffice" in the body of the message From owner-freebsd-openoffice Mon Feb 17 10:15:51 2003 Delivered-To: freebsd-openoffice@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 223BF37B401 for ; Mon, 17 Feb 2003 10:15:51 -0800 (PST) Received: from mail.imp.ch (mail.imp.ch [157.161.1.2]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 1E22C43F3F for ; Mon, 17 Feb 2003 10:15:50 -0800 (PST) (envelope-from mb@imp.ch) Received: from cvs.imp.ch (cvs.imp.ch [157.161.4.9]) by mail.imp.ch (8.12.6/8.12.3) with ESMTP id h1HIFmXN083854; Mon, 17 Feb 2003 19:15:49 +0100 (CET) (envelope-from Martin.Blapp@imp.ch) Date: Mon, 17 Feb 2003 19:15:48 +0100 (CET) From: Martin Blapp To: Damian Gerow Cc: openoffice@FreeBSD.ORG Subject: Re: editors/openoffice install troubles In-Reply-To: <20030217131247.07901894.damian@sentex.net> Message-ID: <20030217191519.O63639@cvs.imp.ch> References: <20030217131247.07901894.damian@sentex.net> MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: TEXT/PLAIN; charset=US-ASCII Sender: owner-freebsd-openoffice@FreeBSD.ORG Precedence: bulk List-ID: List-Archive: (Web Archive) List-Help: (List Instructions) List-Subscribe: List-Unsubscribe: X-Loop: FreeBSD.ORG Hi, You forgot to tell me which FreeBSD version (and subversion) do you use ... And you can sucessfully install it then ? It seems that sometimes a login requestor appears in the background installation and it get's locked. The developer release of OpenOffice has a solution for this. Martin To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-openoffice" in the body of the message
