I'm just wondering, how many other uses have had this issue. Again, my box is a fairly vanilla beast, and a very simple install using the ROMs and KDE as the X environment. If I think of it, Ill make install again and try to remember to nab the errors. Other then that, any hints you might relay could be helpful. WHat's the buildfailure ? Does it work if you set DISPLAY manually via env ? But I want to backup the older version. A 'make package' built a pkg tarball and tar -t listed 3K+ files in the newer version. A bit too much to mess with by hand. If I put the package into /usr/ports/packages/All, is there some portupgrade magic that will -b backup the early version and install the newer? The man page suggests that # portupgrade -bP openoffice-1.0.3 willl do what I want. If dependencies need to be upgraded also you might end up with different versions of dependencies. I do have the sun download in the distfiles directory, but i am not familiar with the file that it is asking me for. When I try to add an icon to the toolbar (w/ right mouse button) I get a fault notification and OO shuts down. This is with v 1.0.3 in another server.
