I don't known why You put Your file public, but each time there are compilation errors. Why do You put it in the CVS anyway ? a) the /external/gpc directory doesn't exist and You copy files into it. b) Consider an option with --enable-libart instead of the old gpc stuff c) Enable an option to disable java ! Anyway, I hope You can release at least ONE working version of Your Makefile. I have installed the 1.1RC4 package, and created the soffice file - but Open Office wont open now. I tried deleting the old Open Office, but that hasn't helped - the error I recieve is GET STORAGE NAME, and something about the soffice.cfg file.Which as I mentioned, I did create. Question is - should I have put something in this file ? Or is something else messed up ? Martin I'm Abble to compile OpenOffice and Openoffice-devel in FreeBSD 5.1 and freeBSD-STABLE (4.9PRERELEASE) too. Thats the reason it is in the ports. OpenOffice have a very unusual way to compile. You have to sey this to Openoffice.org, What we dit: try to use the normal ports in the top of the OO stuff. As Martin says, if you don like it, please send a patche. I have installed the Open Office 1.1RC4 with some help from Martin, the problem is that I have no open office now. It dies at the splash screen. I renamed the home dir, created the soffice file but the scroll bar at the bottom of the splash screen makes it about halfway, and then I get the error Open office cannot be started due to an error in accessing the OpenOffice.org configuration data. Please contact your system administrator The following internal error has occurred: Get Storage Name 'file//usr/home/andy/OpenOffice.org1.1.0/user/config/soffice.cfg'an error occurred during file opening I just created a blank file, (the soffice.cfg) should I have put something in there ? Just a reminder, I am using FreeBSD 4.8-STABLE on a P2 with 128MB RAM, can't shove any more RAM in this box, funds are inadequate at the moment.
