As part of watching over the WWW Mirror Sites I will at times need a default server I can (sometimes temporarily, sometimes permanently) point existing DNS names at when the site stops functioning. Users might have bookmarked the site which records the DNS name of the site they were connected to at the time. Unless I hear back from you I'll assume www.freebsd.org is a suitable thing to use for that. Other sites need to be warned about extra names because of their server config (e.g. one of our official mirror sites landed you on a CPAN mirror last week because the Admin hadn't been told he was www2.freebsd.org in addition to www.ie.freebsd.org :-) but I'm guessing you guys don't have your server doing virtual hosts at all. I am confused as to which pre-install tasks need to be done before doing a 'make install' (or in my case... a make deinstall, make reinstall) on mailman. Here is what I've done so far: (1) adduser mailman (2) built apache13 (3) added the lines to attpd.conf: ScriptAlias /mailman "/usr/local/mailman/cgi-bin" Alias /pipermail "/usr/local/mailman/archives/public" (4) build mailman with default settings However, I'm getting a 'You don't have permission to access /mailman on this server.' message from apache, and I'm concerned that I still need to do something with Exim. I did go ahead and build Exim (with default settings), but I'm wondering if there is some config that I still need to do with Exim? They are some people who realized the importance of "sharing" in their hearts, and distributing software for public use. Our projects are selected in such a way that they should be "unique" ( ender, in Turkish ), which means that there exists a need for the project. We target primarily the *BSD platform. The languages we use in our projects are C, C++ and Perl. We also write *BSD spesific documents. We also host a Turkish FreeBSD Mailing list like freebsd@lists.enderunix.org which is also archived http://lists.enderunix.org Mehmet Akcin writes: > Hello, > > I was looking for information about Turkish FreeBSD linux group(at > http://www.tr.freebsd.org/support.html#web), I have just noticed that, > > Turkey The Turkish FreeBSD Users Group > (Türkiye FreeBSD Kullanicilari Grubu) was founded in September 1999.
