The Short version: I just want to use mutt as my MUA. The Long version: I just want to use mutt as my MUA. I have diffirent email accounts (all POP Accounts) and I want all emails delivered in different mailboxes that I have created and have mutt read them. I went to the mutt homepage and read about mutt not being able to filter emails. It mentioned about fetchmail and procmail. I did some reading but somehow...i give-up maybe because I have been comtemplating and been doing some reading in mutt for days now. I have finally finished my muttrc but, I still use mutt only for testing (i am presently using thunderbird as you can see). Now, what would you guys do if you have different POP mail accounts and want them delivered in specific folders. Do I really have to use fetchmail to retrieve my emails and have procmail delivered them to my folders and then have sendmail deliver all my outgoing emails? Can't sendmail do this all? If you have combinations that you can share please do. Thanks and hope to hear from anybody... These sorts of things can best be sent off-list, especially when you're referring to those few who did make a big deal out of the post. IRC is a community of (mostly) childish idiots. It is stated on the FreeBSD webpage that there are _NO_ official IRC support channels for this very reason. Consider the volume of email on freebsd-chat and freebsd-questions -- and try to apply this statement again. I don't know what kind of admin you are, but posting this garbage on a FreeBSD mailing list makes you a troll (sorry to feed you) and a one of the worst admins of X operating system. Try to see the forest for the trees -- especially when you're one of them. > This is not meant as a bitch at a community of what are very technically = apt > individuals, more a call to awareness. > Has anyone else noticed this? I can see that there is maybe one person in the thread who is being obnoxious, but everyone else in the thread is not, showing that the obnoxious behavior is in the minority, not the majority as you imply. Also, IRC is unfortunately full of people who basically have nothing better to do with their time than to be childish. Having spent some time in both #freebsdhelp and #freebsd I can tell you that trying to make those channels be a true help channel is basically a lost cause and is not due to the attitude of the Project as a whole. You are probably much better off on freenode as another poster mentioned or asking your question on questions@. -- John Baldwin <>< http://www.FreeBSD.org/~jhb/ "Power Users Use the Power to Serve" = http://www.FreeBSD.org From owner-freebsd-chat@FreeBSD.ORG Wed Aug 4 23:16:59 2004 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-chat@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 7305016A4CE for ; Wed, 4 Aug 2004 23:16:59 +0000 (GMT) Received: from seven.Alameda.net (seven.alameda.net [64.81.53.71]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 5D63643D53 for ; Wed, 4 Aug 2004 23:16:59 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from ulf@Alameda.net) Received: by seven.Alameda.net (Postfix, from userid 1000) id 27B1D3A201; Wed, 4 Aug 2004 16:16:59 -0700 (PDT) Date: Wed, 4 Aug 2004 16:16:59 -0700 From: Ulf Zimmermann To: chat@freebsd.org Message-ID: <20040804231658.GB26067@seven.alameda.net> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: inline User-Agent: Mutt/1.4.2.1i Organization: Alameda Networks, Inc.
