I have been struggling with having to mannually power up my router machines for the past three months. I am in Iraq, and the darn local-national have generated power, hence they have to shut down the huge deisel generators, frequently. I was in school for computer engineering prior to getting activated, so I have some knowledge of capacitors, and circuit theory, however, obviously not enough to grant me the ability to solve this problem by myself :) I am about to get back to the states, so I will try the capacitor trick when I get back, however, the grounded wire solution may be the solution that is most viable, right now. Thanks again. -- Respectfully, M.G.W. Surprisingly, I've accomplished the same task today ;-) Old Pentium2 hasn't such BIOS option... Pin 17 on the ATX conector, green wire, PS_ON, 4th pin from the edge of connector - I've cutted it, and from the side of power unit attached it to black wire (GROUND). Work like a charm ;-) P.S. Pinout of ATX connector one can find, for example, here - http://www.formfactors.org/developer%5Cspecs%5Catx2_2.pdf Alexander Vasenin aka BlackSir > -----Original Message----- > From: owner-freebsd-isp@freebsd.org > [mailto:owner-freebsd-isp@freebsd.org]On Behalf Of omegadraconis@gmail.com > Sent: Sunday, December 19, 2004 4:56 PM > To: freebsd-isp@freebsd.org > Subject: Re: Problems with autoboot on powerup... > Wire number 4 on the atx connector (I think it's green) to a ground > and the power supply will kick over. I checked ports and find out morebalance-0.3 and loadd-0.8 ?! Anybody use those programs?! I want make a load balance on my frontend servers ?! Could you give me advise about using hardware-load-balancer or software-load-balancer ?! And I wonder How many connection can handle FreeBSD box ?! Because hardware load-balancer can up to 2.000.000 connection per box. I think that with PIII and 512 machine I can handle ?! Thanks Vahric MUHTARYAN
