FreeBSD administrator looking for work within the northern California area; limited SPECIFICALLY to the Mountain View/Sunnyvale area of Silicon Valley. Relocation (inner-state and outer-state) is presently not a viable option. Over 10+ years of experience in both heterogeneous (BSD/Linux/Solaris and Windows) and homogeneous (pure BSD, Linux, or Solaris) environments. Familiar with many forms of scripting languages (as all admins should be). Also very familiar with a range of networking equipment and network device configurations (layers 1 through 7). Extensive exposure to 24x7x365 work environments and "on-call" emergency duties. Excellent communication and documentation skills. I'm more than willing to do remote work (occasional telecommuting is possible for within California, otherwise I'd prefer Email+phone) for folks outside of the state of California. Salary and/or hourly wages are negotiable; to put it bluntly, I'm quite affordable. I prefer a position I enjoy and find challenging, not large paycheques; as long as I can pay rent and feed myself, I'm happy. My profile and job history can be viewed at http://jdc.parodius.com/work/ References available upon request.
