I made the SVCDs using DVD2SVCD. DVD2SVCD is a collection of freeware utilities put together with a GUI front end. I really like it because it makes things easy and runs all the steps in a batch process. But anyway, CD_Image_File_CDx.bin is the generic name DVD2SVCD uses when splitting up long streams and creating SVCDs. If the stream needs two CDs, it will make CD_Image_File_CD1.bin and CD_Image_File_CD2.bin. And now that I type this reply, maybe the problem is that these are SVCD images and VCD images? Currently I'm using transcode + mpeg2enc + dvdauthor but it's a bit slower than I'd like since this is for a semi-realtime application. Preferably I'd rather be able to dump the captured MPEG stream directly to dvdauthor and be done with it, unfortunately I have to split the stream into audio/video, then re-multiplex, then I can feed it to dvdauthor. Any ideas on a setting/ filter/something/anything which I can use to bypass the need to do all this extra processing. I bought the card in the hope that I wouldn't have to do anything to the captured stream before burning to DVD. If anyone has any ideas, I'd appreciate it a lot. Any known workarounds? > > Thanks, > > Drew I've used "vcdxrip" to extract mpegs from bin files: vcdxrip -b CD_Image_File_CD1.bin Its part of the multimedia/vcdimager tools. It will extract to avseq01.mpg or some such name, but it will be the original format. You'll be able to tell by the size and using "mpginfo". That seems a bit heavy handed - you should be able to generate DVD compliant VOBs from random mpeg2 streams by splitting the stream with mpeg2desc (I use mpeg2desc -a 0 -o audio -v 0 -o video >/dev/null) and remultimplexing with tcmplex (tcmplex -m d -o $name.vob -i video -p audio). You get mpeg2desc from the dvddauthor port and tcmplex from the transcode port. Don't try and use FIFOs between mpeg2desc and tcmplex, it doesn't work. Fifos seem to work with mplex but often (IME) generate broken VOBs :( > Preferably I'd rather be able to dump the captured MPEG stream directly > to dvdauthor and be done with it, unfortunately I have to > split the stream into audio/video, then re-multiplex, then I can feed it > to dvdauthor. This is probably necessary, I suspect that the output from the PVR-350 lacks the DVD NAV (VOBU) packets required by dvdauthor (and DVDs). -- C:>WIN | Solar Thermal Systems The computer obeys and wins. | http://www.soleire.com/ You lose and Bill collects. | Directable Mirror Arrays | http://www.sohara.org/ From owner-freebsd-multimedia@FreeBSD.ORG Fri Jul 9 21:36:04 2004 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-multimedia@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 2C68616A4CE; Fri, 9 Jul 2004 21:36:04 +0000 (GMT) Received: from 194-185-53-242.f5.ngi.it (194-185-53-242.f5.ngi.it [194.185.53.242]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 45BBF43D48; Fri, 9 Jul 2004 21:36:02 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from mark@remotelab.org) Received: from einstein.lab (einstein.lab [192.168.168.2]) i69La1Oh010725; Fri, 9 Jul 2004 23:36:01 +0200 (CEST) (envelope-from mark@remotelab.org) Received: from einstein.lab (localhost.lab [127.0.0.1]) by einstein.lab (8.12.10/8.12.10) with ESMTP id i69LbFST005982; Fri, 9 Jul 2004 23:37:15 +0200 (CEST) (envelope-from mark@einstein.lab) Received: (from mark@localhost) by einstein.lab (8.12.10/8.12.10/Submit) id i69LbFb6005981; Fri, 9 Jul 2004 23:37:15 +0200 (CEST) (envelope-from mark) Date: Fri, 9 Jul 2004 23:37:15 +0200 From: Marco Trentini To: freebsd-x11@freebsd.org Message-ID: <20040709213715.GF1188@einstein.lab> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: multipart/mixed; boundary="oyUTqETQ0mS9luUI" Content-Disposition: inline User-Agent: Mutt/1.4.2.1i cc: freebsd-multimedia@freebsd.org cc: freebsd-questions@freebsd.org cc: freebsd-mobile@freebsd.org Subject: FreeBSD 5.2.1 and GeForce FX Go5600 multiple monitors problems X-BeenThere: freebsd-multimedia@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.1 Precedence: list Reply-To: Marco Trentini List-Id: Multimedia discussions List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Fri, 09 Jul 2004 21:36:04 -0000 --oyUTqETQ0mS9luUI Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: inline Hi all, I have some problems with nvidia drivers and FreeBSD 5.2.1. My machine is the sony vaio PCG-GRT915M. It ships with GeForce FX Go5600. I've installed the last freebsd nvidia-driver port with WITH_NVIDIA_HACKS=yes option. If I use only the LCD monitor all works fine (for now). The problems come up when I want to use LCD+CRT or LCD+TV both in the TWINVIEW mode off and on. In these cases X starts correctly but when I exit from X then my machine freezes and I see strange colors on my LCD. I've noted another matter also. If I start X with Option "ConnectedMonitor" "CRT", I can see X on CRT only (the LCD is inactive) but when I exit from X the video signal doesn't return on my LCD. Anyway the system is still up in this case and I can run command (blindly) on the virtual console and restart the machine. The same thing happens with TV device. It is as good as the nvidia-driver doesn't reopen the LCD device. Will anybody help me to solve this problem? thanks. mark@vaio # sysctl -a hw.nvidia hw.nvidia.agp.card.rates: 8x 4x hw.nvidia.agp.card.fw: supported hw.nvidia.agp.card.sba: supported hw.nvidia.agp.card.registers: 0x1f000e1b:0x1f004102 hw.nvidia.agp.status.status: enabled hw.nvidia.agp.status.driver: nvidia hw.nvidia.agp.status.rate: 8x hw.nvidia.agp.status.fw: disabled hw.nvidia.agp.status.sba: disabled hw.nvidia.version: NVIDIA FreeBSD x86 nvidia.ko Kernel Module 1.0-4365 Wed May 28 09:20:25 PDT 2003 hw.nvidia.registry.EnableVia4x: 0 hw.nvidia.registry.EnableALiAGP: 0 hw.nvidia.registry.EnableAGPSBA: 0 hw.nvidia.registry.EnableAGPFW: 0 hw.nvidia.registry.SoftEDIDs: 1 hw.nvidia.registry.Mobile: 4294967295 hw.nvidia.registry.ResmanDebugLevel: 4294967295 hw.nvidia.registry.FlatPanelMode: 0 hw.nvidia.cards.0.model: GeForce FX Go5600 hw.nvidia.cards.0.irq: 4 hw.nvidia.cards.0.vbios: 04.31.20.37.b3 hw.nvidia.cards.0.type: AGP -- Marco Trentini mark@remotelab.org http://www.remotelab.org/ --oyUTqETQ0mS9luUI Content-Type: text/plain;
